We'll ship you a replacement device (same or newer model depending on availability). You'll also receive a pre-paid shipping label to send your damaged device back to us (must have a valid credit card on file in order to receive a replacement).




Return your damaged device within 30 days from reception (otherwise you will be charged the price of the replacement).


Things to know:

  • Upon purchase, you'll receive an email. This will be your official purchase confirmation. To give you the best customer experience possible, SquareTrade may also contact you about your purchase by telephone.
  • Please read the terms and conditions (see the link at the bottom of the page).
  • Start Date: Plan begins on the date your device is delivered, or on the plan purchase date if you already have your device and are purchasing a plan within 30 days of device purchase, and is inclusive of the manufacturer's warranty period. If you have an issue and are covered by the manufacturer at that time, you'll be directed to the manufacturer first.

Make sure you read the full terms of the agreement - click on the link in the item's description to discover the hidden information.

What's hidden?
1. The fact that the replacement will most likely be a refurbished item (one previously repaired).
2. That they don't cover "cosmetic" damages - so if you drop your Fire and the screen gets scratched up, the sides get nicked, perhaps dented a bit, but it still works fine, they consider this "cosmetic" damage; so as long as it works, they won't replace it.
3. That if they do replace it, you have to give them a valid credit card number before they'll send the replacement to you. Why? Because if you don't send the damaged one to them within 30 days, they're going to charge your credit card for the replacement.
4. They don't cover it for theft. Say after you've had your new Fire for three months it gets stolen. You're not only out of your new Fire, but the cost of this Policy - they won't transfer it to a new one (when you buy your own replacement).

Look, if you take care of your belongings, really watch out for them, you don't really need one of these so called "Protection" plans. But if you're a Klutz, weren't taught by your parents to take care of, or respect your property (or others), then you might want to purchase one of these plans. Just keep in mind that filing false claims is against the law.

Just received it. First thing I noticed was the name. It was in my granddaughters name, Which I purchased a 4 yr. Plan on a camera, for her, b-4 this one.
I call the # and they said the name doesn't matter, it's the serial number of the item your buying protection for. I still would like it in my name! (and
since I've never have used it) I am giving it 4 Stars

woke up to my amazon screen cracked device not working set on a high shelf the cat knocked down was updet...called spuare trade my representative ilaura my experience wonderful...no hassells, no problems just send back and my new device will be here within 2-3 days... TOSHIBA whomever they use put put mu husband from hell... I was told years ago by office depot ( i think office max now) that square trade was the best protection service company around. They were being honest..... Thank you Ilaura thank you square trade....when protection offered if through square trade I will not think twice about buying! Once again thank you for making my experience as quick for being just great!

My wife cannot see well and knocked her Fire 10 Tablet off the arm of the couch. When it fell it cracked the screen. Over the next 4 days the cracked had covered the screen. The Protection plan replaced the tablet.

too many "hidden" caveats and, if KF Hd would fix the darn charging port and make it more durable, less likely to come loose and stop working this wouldn't be necessary. On an I Pad you can order and read the books and the charging port is at least not always in danger of coming apart inside the unit.

not very good. got nothing in my home mail,e-mail,or spam folder .this plan makes the customer do all leg work. they need to send you a pamphlet so you have the numbers ,and contact phone numbers so if anything happens you have something on file.
