These glasses are great. They look sharp and they're not tinted so much that they alter color perception. I work in an office setting and after just one day of wearing these glasses I noticed an improvement in my eye health. My eyes no longer hurt, water, itch, or feel bleached out after staring at a computer screen for hours on end. Highly recommended!
If you're like me, you're probably wondering whether these glasses really do anything they claim. I was looking into these because I spend 8-9 hours at a computer for work, then typically go home and play video games for the remainder of the day. Yeah, my eyes were pretty dry and itchy a lot of the time.
I've been using these glasses on & off for about a month now. They work better in some places than others. I can only guess that it's due to the lighting. Fortunately, my office is the place they seem to work the best. I didn't notice until after I'd been wearing these a while, and then took them off, exactly how harsh our office lighting is. So, I can tell you that they do work - but don't expect a miracle. My eyes aren't noticeably less red, but they HAVE been less dry and less itchy. Enough so that I'm thankful for these glasses.
That said, these are one-size-fits-most glasses. They're a bit tight on my face - enough to occasionally give me headaches and leave marks on the bridge of my nose. So if you have a larger head, you may want to avoid.
If you're interested in these kinds of glasses, my overall recommendation is to start here - they're cheap and functional, if a little uncomfortable. Then, when you've established whether they'll work for your situation, look into a more customized solution.
These glasses are a life-saver for me. Working on a computer 8+ hours a day and using a personal computer/laptop and smartphone has been rough on my eyes, especially since adding the smartphone to the arsenal. I never had any problems with the computers, but after I started using a smartphone a lot - as a "Kindle" device and to play games - I noticed that my eyes were getting tired, scratchy/itchy and red a lot more. These Gamma Ray glasses have greatly helped in alleviating a lot of that discomfort. They're comfortable and lightweight enough for me to wear all day long. I'm going to order a backup pair, just in case something happens to this one.
Two years ago I went from a job using a computer about 1-2 hours per day to a job where I look at a computer screen 6+ hours per day. I almost immediately began noticing eye problems. Within a few months I had a constant pain in my left eye and I couldn't read street signs in twilight. I felt like my eyes were done for and it was just part of aging. I went to the eye doctor and told him my problems, he did an eye test (in the morning, in perfect light) and my vision was as good as ever.
So why couldn't I see anything on my evening commute? Everything was just an amorphous blob. Why was I going to sleep with eye pain? It was a dull pressure until I passed out. I did some digging and found that blue lights could be the cause of my problems, particularly if you work under fluorescent lights, which I do.
I bought a pair of these glasses two weeks ago and my eye pain went away within a day. After about a week my twilight vision was a lot better, no more blurry blobs, and no more excruciating effort to focus on objects far away. I thought I had failing vision, but my eyes were just tired. I've never used them like this before and they need proper protection less I cause some real damage to them. These glasses are the proper protection my eyes need.
The glasses have a yellowish tint that isn't noticeable when you put them on. Look at the pictures people posted on reviews, these are actually quite stylish. I look at a computer most of the day but also meet face to face with customers about 5-6 times per day and I feel pretty confident when wearing these that the glasses look good and the tint isn't noticeable. If you have eye fatigue from a computer screen or work under old fluorescent lights and experience blurring vision at twilight then I highly recommend these glasses for you!
Pros: * Great-looking, well made and sturdy * Fit well * Nice case, included cleaning cloth * Good price for the quality
Cons: * Did not notice any appreciable difference in glare or vision. Unfortunately they didn't work for me, so I had to return them. But they may work well for another; we all have different vision. * As another reviewer mentioned, these may not fit someone with a larger head. I'm female and small, so I expected these to be very big on me, but they fit just right. I think a man, especially a large man, might find them a little tight.
All in all, these glasses would be an excellent value if they work for you. I think it's worth it to buy and try them; if they don't work, you can always return them.
I spend most of my day and night with a computer in my face. A few months back I started to get dry itchy eyes in the evenings. I did a bit of research and was told to try these glasses. I can honestly say these glasses are very clear and I can tell a difference. If you use readers and spend a lot of time in front of a computer you owe it to your eyes to get this type of glasses. I was not paid or asked to post this review.
Perfect for my gaming and programming needs. I even look up close to my 27" lcd monitor with no hiccups sometimes and my eyes are never strained. Wish I knew about these back in my twenties, would have saved my eyes from having a few veins from popping out. In fact, it seems to be disappearing now.
