Whitestone Dome Glass
Product Description
Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S9 (2018)
This product is NOT compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S9+ aka S9 Plus
Touted as one of the best tempered glass protectors, our patented Dome Glass has the maximum strength and scratch resistance rating of 9H (hardness measurement). Compared to cheap $10 alternatives, this ultra strong glass will not fade or fog with extended use and fully covers your Galaxy S9 (not compatible with S9+ model) from edge to edge. Our revolutionary liquid glass adhesive forms around the edges of your curved screen to create a single, solid layer of anti-shatter glass.
Protection Against Blue Light
Cell phones have become an essential part of our lives. However, one of the negative effects of smartphones is their emittance of shorter wavelengths called Blue Light. Studies suggest that, over time, exposure to blue light, especially harmful at night, can cause serious long-term damage to your eyes. Our White stone Dome Glass decreases the strength of blue light by up to 25%--protecting you and your smart device!
NOT compatible with Galaxy S9 Plus version

Roughly a year later, and the upper right corner of my screen cover was badly cracked during a fall, but it definitely did its job; my actual phone screen is completely unharmed. I just went through replacing the cover with a fresh one -- the process went even more smoothly the second time around, and my phone looks brand new again. My one complaint is that when I removed the cracked screen cover, it was very hard to keep harmful glass dust to a minimum; naturally, the cover cracks as you peel it off, but that sent a flurry of glass dust across my counter. Luckily, I had laid my phone on a damp paper towel because I assumed this might happen, so that helped to collect the dust and keep it's radius to a minimum. Overall I still definitely recommend this cover! ***
Original Review:
I just finished installing this screen protector and while it was a tad nerve wracking due to my perfectionism, it wasn't difficult and I'm thrilled with the results. The cover is nearly indiscernible from the rest of the phone and truly looks as if it's part of the original design. The performance of the screen itself is in no way inhibited either; it's just as responsive as it was before the cover was installed, and feels great to the touch.
I was able to install it with no bubbles or flaws of any kind. I pulled up the instructional video and did the installation at my desk, following along with the video and pausing where necessary. I was very careful through the entire process and had it fully installed in about 10 minutes. Here are a few notes / tips based on my experience installing this for the GS9:
1. If you have the Bixby key enabled, be mindful of where you insert the absorption pad on the left side; if the pad is against that key, it will cause your screen to turn on every few seconds during the installation. This is distracting and can also make it difficult to properly judge whether the glass is aligned with the edges correctly before you adhere it.
2. Once you have the glass positioned over the adhesive, but BEFORE you tip the tray and remove the pin, really, REALLY check that your edges are aligned, ESPECIALLY if you want to use a body case with this screen cover. Based on my research, the variety of cases you can use with this cover is mostly dependent on ensuring that you have the glass perfectly centered and not too close to any edges. I paid close attention to aligning the two tiny dots at the bottom of the glass with the two notches extruding from the frame of the top tray in the same spot, and that was a huge help.
3. Carefully clean up any leakage before the first curing! There are two parts to this:
A) Leakage into the tray. Based on the way the instructions and FAQ on the Whitestone Dome site were phrased, I thought that it wasn't a concern if there was leakage into the sides of the tray - in the gap between the top and bottom trays - when it came time to cure with the UV lamp. Nope. Some of my adhesive had leaked into said gap and after the first curing, when I went to remove the top tray as instructed, it was a bit stuck! Luckily, since this was the shorter curing time (15 seconds) it hadn't fully set the adhesive, but I cringe to think I may have had a situation on my hands in the form of an encased phone, if I had cured it for longer. A little elbow grease and one of the alcohol pads had the trays cleaned up after I had carefully removed my phone. If you see leakage before curing, I recommend super carefully wiping it up without budging your phone, before you hit it with the lamp at all.
B) Leakage on the edges of the glass. It's important to be light handed when you're cleaning the phone after the first curing and to only wipe from top to bottom with the alcohol wipe, very gently. RESIST the urge to press in hard along the edges or use your nail to remove any excess adhesive that might be sticking out; messing with it too much can result in your glass changing positions, or you ending up with gaps where the glass isn't fully adhered, and these will be glaringly obvious when the screen is on because they'll reflect light back. Wait until after all the curing to do a final clean-up.
4. Put simply: take a breath, and take your time. Yes, this is a bit of a process and it requires some detail-oriented patience, but if you're thoughtful about everything you do during each step, it will turn out perfect and you'll have an amazing screen cover.

It is a complicated install...let me get that out of the way right now. You dont just put this on the phone and thats it...there is liquid adhesive involved and a UV curing light. BUT if you watch installation videos...there are several on Youtube right now...it will prepare you for the installation process. Whitestone also provides step by step written instructions. They also give you 2 tubes of the adhesive in case you screw up on the first try (I did). As long as you havent put it under the UV light you can take the glass off and clean it and the phone off to remove the liquid adhesive and then try it again. Second time went much more smoothly and my glass is sitting beautifully on my phone. The only thing I ended up with were a couple bubbles that look like flat watermarks (happened during the second attempt) that honestly aren't annoying enough to take this one off and replace it.
I have 2 different cases for my phone...a clear Otterbox Symmetry and a Spigen LIquid Crystal Blossom print case. Tried them both and they both worked fine...I have read that the heavier duty cases like the Otterbox Defender will not work with this glass because the edges of the case will lift the glass but the lighter cases seem to be fine.
I really like this glass, like I said I had a lot less issues with install on this one than I did with the Zagg glass despite the complicated multi step installation. If for any reason I have to replace it I would be happy to put another Whitestone Dome glass on my S9 (yes they are apparently easy to take off if needed).

Also, it fits on my Spigen Tough Armor case with the kickstand perfectly with just enough clearance for the protector to chill without issues so that's something.
EDIT: Changing it to 3 stars. Air bubbles started to appear on its own about a day after I made this review. Pretty sad and disappointed that I ended up re-installing it by using the extra LOCA glue that came with it and it ended up working (After cleaning the protector like a maniac with isopropyl alcohol 70%). Oleophobic coating still remained as if it was new and the screen looks better than before. Although my worry is that the air bubbles will appear again and sure enough, they're there but on the left hand side of the phone. I took some photos of the screen BEFORE the re-install so judge them accordingly but I am glad that it still sticks and looks decent on the phone, but not impressed that mine got air bubbles on its own on the first install. Waiting on the replacement kit now so hopefully it becomes available for purchase very soon as I do not want to spend more money on another UV machine and tray.
EDIT 2 AS OF MAY 31, 2018 - Nothing crazy to report but I just want to update that the same screen protector is still hanging on just perfectly. I already purchased the replacement kit and it comes with one screen and 2 locas and that's about it, though I have yet to open it though as I would only do it if this first one does crack, which it has not yet. Even suffered no damage from a knee high drop with the Spigen Tough Armor case, falling glass side and top right corner mostly and no cracks on the phone nor any other damages. Surprisingly well thus far. Will update again when it breaks and when I get it replaced myself but that may be a while. So far very good and touch sensitivity is still perfect, even when I don't have the Touch Sensitivity feature on my S9 activated so I am more impressed.
EDIT 3 AS OF DEC 23, 2018: So I broke the first screen protector by accident (or mostly from rage drop... Ha.) during the time I make this edit note and I used the Replacement Set that was sold seperately and sold by Whitestone themselves via Amazon. The first screen that I got last me basically all the way from February till now (December 23, 2018) and I am honestly very happy with the protection. Now for the Replacement set.
The replacement set actually came with the tray, stickers, wipes, 2 glues, and an extra screen protector, making it a not a bad purchase but still pricey. It does not come with the UV light but if you have one around from the initial kit or know someone who has it, you're pretty much set. Reinstallation was a breeze if you have experience with it the first time and now it looks flawless without any bubbles so far. As of now, I have bumped up my rating to a 5 star and I would consider this the protection of choice for protecting your beautiful S9's screen as it has protected the phone from knife scratches, coin scratches, a few drops (Unless you rage toss it REALLY hard like I did... Don't tell me why I did it) and it was still scratch-less. Worth.
