My 6 month old puppy was electrocuted by chewing into an electrical cord. Through 30 minutes of CPR by us he survived, although my husband and I were traumatized. We immediately ordered two cord cover products. One had a scent to deter pets, but it was so pungent we could not have it in the house. THIS item went on easily but today my pup chewed right through it and into another cord. Fortunately he was not shocked this time, but easily could have been. This might be ok for non-electrical cords with no safety hazard, but please, if you love and value your pet's life, do not use these for electrical cords.

Great product. One of my cats, Calvin, likes to chew on power cables - especially when he gets excited before eating - very strange. I tried spraying the cables with scents but that didn't work - he is a great cat and I don't want him to get electrocuted. Fortunately, this cable protector works very well - I got the 1 inch size and it is very thick and he hasn't been able to bite through it although he tries everyday. I have used the protector for a few months and has not slipped off. I recommend this cable protector.

I’m not sure why other people are saying that it’s not easy to put over their cords because I haven’t had that issue at all. It did take me a few minutes to get the hang of it but I had enough to do all the cords in my bedroom and some to spare. I have a baby bunny and ideally I want him to be able to free roam upstairs. I let him out maybe 4 hours a day (maybe more) and so far he had a curiosity about the cords but right now I feel he’s safe and can roam around as he likes. One of the things I liked about this is I could fit 2 cords in one protector, I’d be sad if my Amazon fire stick and my tv cord were chewed, number 1 to keep the bun safe but number 2 keep my tv safe! I’d suggest this to anyone who wants to “rabbit proof” their space. I’m not using it for a puppy so I don’t know how well it would fair but it’s held up well for tiny baby bunny teeth! I also use that pipe covers in other areas, the ones that are like a pool noodle but for copper pipes. I’m actually thinking of ordering another roll of this to have in hand when I start doing the other rooms upstairs. Oh and I covered 4+ standard length cords with the one roll with enough to probably do a fifth cord. Recommended
