LOTS of power
Holds a charge for years
Comes with a lot of adapter tips
Has a carry bag
Decent price ($100), costs the same as the lower rated power packs
Charges pretty fast
Charges a wide variety of laptops
only one USB port (need at least two)
only charges from 110v wall power- will not charge from USB, 12v, or any solar system. It has to be plugged in to the wall or through a 12v adapter. I want it to be able to charge from just about anything, and power just about anything.
HEAVY. It's as heavy as my 10.1 inch ultrabook.
I'd prefer a rubberized case or ruggedized case instead of a brushed metal case.
Doesn't jump start a dead car; a lot of other battery packs can jump start a dead battery car car.
In the end it's a good piece of equipment and I would recommend it to you. It kept my communications gear up and running for a long time, I just wish it was a bit more "off the grid" friendly and could charge from USB, 12v, solar, AND 110v. If it could charge from more sources I'd have given it 5 stars.
Update: Contacted by a Customer Service Rep. I am impressed about the customer service. However, after I charged the power bank over night, still no LED indications. I will need a replacement since I do like the size of it and the price.
Update: Changed one star to three star. Although the product was inoperable, the seller's customer service is great. I would buy purchase another product from this seller without any hesitation.
Update: I ordered a new one a couple of days ago and received it a few hours. The new unit is fully charged and works with Surface Pro 3 (with a separately purchased adapter/charger) and with my Android phone. AWESOME!!!! Changed the rating to 5 Star. The seller was great, too.
I purchased this power unit from Hisgadget with fulfillment by Amazon. It arrived one day earlier than expected and the UPS delivery box appeared to be intact. When I opened the UPS box, I was surprised to see the retail box was unsealed, that is, there was no evidence that the box had ever been sealed in shrink wrap, cellophane or even taped to prevent pilfering.
Upon opening the retail box, the only items that were in a sealed bag were the 10 mobile phone adapters in a cheap, thin, reclosable plastic bag. The 12 cable adapter tips were not packaged or bagged at all, simply loose and strewn throughout the box, as were the AC power adapter with cable, the USB cable and the DC power cable.
The power unit itself was nested in its recess, unsealed and was absolutely flat. There was zero power residual. It was completely dead.
There was no warranty certificate or product registration card. No proof of purchase. No delivery invoice. The only proof of purchase in my possession or available to me is the UPS label on the delivery box and the Amazon order record on my Amazon account.
Now, it may be that all that I noted is exactly the manner in which this unit was supposed to have been prepared for delivery. If so, it constitutes an exception to the manner in which most premium consumer electronics are packaged for the retail customer, and it does not inspire confidence in this product or in the quality control measures employed in its preparation for delivery.
As stated, the power unit had zero residual when it arrived. More than 7 hours elapsed between the time I plugged it into the wall receptacle and the point when it finally achieved 5 illuminated LEDs.
At this moment, the power unit is connected via a third party MagSafe2 cable from the 19V output setting to my MBP 15" Retina Display. It has been connected for 64 minutes. Before connecting the power unit, I exhausted the MBP internal battery. The MBP System Information pane displays power input rating at 60w. The Activity Monitor now shows 52% charge with 11673 mV (11.7 volts) input at 3882 mA. Only 1 LED is illuminated on the power unit and when I break the connection, the unit displays 2 illuminated LEDs. The unit is hot to the touch.
The MBP internal battery capacity is approximately 7900mAh. The Retina Display brightness setting is 100%. Screen resolution is maximum. CPU is 92% idle. The integrated graphics card is invoked to save power. I am running Firefox 27.0.1 with 13 tabs open.
At this moment, 76 minutes have elapsed. The power unit is depleted and is no longer charging the MBP. The MBP internal battery displays 58% charge with 2 hours 52 minutes charge remaining at the current usage rate.
The apple brand MagSafe2 85w AC power adapter that came with my MBP 15" Retina Display has an output rating of 20 volts at 4.25 amps as printed on the adapter. When it's plugged in to my MBP, the System Information pane displays power input rating at 85w. The Activity Monitor displays power input 11484mV (11.5 volts) input at 4141mA.
When one considers that this power unit should not be capable of recharging this MBP at all, I am impressed with its ability, delivering only 60w power, to achieve a MBP 58% charge from 0% in 76 minutes while the MBP is in use. I am far less impressed that the unit became completely depleted after only 76 minutes.
I had wanted to award this product 5 stars. The reason I am giving it a rating of only 2 stars is because of its fast depletion rate as well as what I view as significant packaging deficiencies as noted above, and especially the absence of warranty information or a product registration certificate or any proof of purchase. The power unit is inscribed with a serial number but there is no SN reference on the box or UPC label. Bottom line, I have no assurance this is a new unit. Its performance and packaging lead me to believe otherwise.
ADDENDUM: I have already ordered a second unit, which I hope will be new and unmolested. Looking forward to using a new, properly working unit and revising my rating upward.
Today I received the second power unit, one day early. It is the identical model, but this time it arrived fully-charged in a sealed box with all accessories, including an attractive carry pouch with accessory pocket secured with velcro, and the warranty card. I noted the warranty as stated on the card is for only 12 months, not 18, so I'll contact the vendor for written confirmation of the 18-month warranty.
After charging the power unit, essentially simply ensuring a full charge, I connected it to my MBP as before, shut down with internal battery depleted. After approximately 90 minutes, the power unit shut down, exhausted. I opened the MBP and noted it had received a 90% charge from the power unit. I topped it off with the AC power adapter. Once the power unit was again fully charged (5 hours), I connected it to the fully-charged MBP and used it as always, with multiple tabs open while viewing streaming video and listening to internet radio. The power unit maintained the MBP charge at 100% for 2 hours before shutting down, at which point the MBP internal battery began to discharge.
Does the power unit fully recharge my depleted MBP? No, it doesn't. But it does provide 2 additional hours to the MBP internal battery while under heavy demand, or more than 2 hours from zero power in a shut down MBP. At $75, and with the ability to charge a multitude of items at different power settings, this product represents a far greater value to me than the Hyperjuice units that cost hundreds of dollars more.
Based on the performance of this second unit, and the attractive price point, I'm raising my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. I recommend this product for use with laptops, including the apple MBP 15" Retina Display, for those occasions when access to an AC power source is not convenient.

Also when the device was working it was unable to charge an Asus Transformer tablet.
In conclusion: Do not buy this product, honestly spend your money on something that works.
And FYI if amazon had a 0 star rating I would give it for this product.
First try I charged an Iphone 4 to full and an Ipad 3 to 36%. Second try from a freshly charged battery I managed to charge my pad 3 to 64%.
