I’m obsessed!!! This book does an amazing job at breaking down each element of a low carb smoothie into an easy to understand formula. I love that all the recipes are blood sugar friendly and I truly have felt such a positive shift in my energy levels, mood and cravings - these smoothies are so satisfying and keep me full for hours! I truly love the whole concept behind the book and I’ve experienced so many benefits since incorporating these smoothies into my morning. I can wait to keep diving in and trying more of the delicious sounding flavors!

Incredibly delicious healthy recipes. Just remember though healthy does not necessarily mean low. Cal! My only negative about the book is it lacks nutritional counts for the recipes.

there is cauliflower rice in practically in a lot (mostly most) in the recipes. I don't like cauliflower.

A useful guide to smoothie recipes that are tasty, but every recipe requires PROTEIN POWDER, and that is disappointing.

Most informed people know the highest proteins are in meat, and no one is going to blend tuna fish or bison with kale to make a smoothie. I mean you could, but yuck!

Many vegetables and other non-meat foods are also packed with protein. Broccoli, beans, cabbage, cauliflower, oats, spirulina, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, peas, and so on. So when I read that every smoothie requires a protein powder, I felt like someone just pulled the wool over my eyes.

After reading the recipes, I became less than enthused to use the book. One, because you have to buy protein powder and that gets very expensive and confusing, Two, you don't need this book because anyone can come up with a good tasting high energy smoothie using your choice of chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla protein powder:

Step 1 - Pick a powder
Step 2 - Pick a vegetable
Step 3 - Pick a seed

BOOM, you have yourself a protein power smoothie.

None-the-less, it is a well written and informative book.

At first glace, "Protein Power Smoothies" might seem like your run-of-the-mill fad diet cookbooks that pop up around every holiday season boasting about how THIS is the book that will finally make you lose one hundred pounds and appear on your favorite talk show or whatever they're promising nowadays.

However, this really isn't that kind of book, AND THAT'S A GOOD THING.

The greatest strength of this book is its author. "Protein Power Smoothies" is written by an actual dietician, and her knowledge is proven beyond just the accolades stated in the "About the Author" section by the detail in the book, but instead shown through the actual science of the smoothies in the chapters that precede the recipes.

Yeah, this book doesn't just post some smoothie recipes with a dumb, long anecdote here and there and call it a day -- it's equal parts a recipe book and a piece of down-to-earth non-fiction.

Let me better explain what I mean.

Reading the opening chapters is like an easily understandable chemistry class/health class hybrid -- they are the meat-and-potatoes of the book (Or, since it's a smoothie, would it be the protein powder-and-monkfruit...? Eh, whatever -- still works!).

The best about this book is that it offers a concrete, full explanation of why many of the conventional smoothie recipes we think of are inherently flawed, and -- rather than shame the reader(s) who have fallen for those traps in the past -- informs them about how to make a better smoothie that will keep them fuller.

It's not a book that shames -- it's a book that informs, and that makes all of the difference.

Heather DiBiasi details why your body needs the elements of these smoothies that work alongside her template, and why other smoothies you might have tried have failed you in the past because they didn't implement them. By the end of the first half of the book, you're going to feel smarter than when you began, and that's going to make the smoothies in its latter half all the more enticing.

Look, it's around the New Years at the date I'm writing this review -- you might be one of those people looking for the kind of book I was talking about at the start. Now, if you want one that's actually legit and well-written, check this one out. If you're willing to read, listen, and put in a bit of hard work on your end, you'll get a lot out of it.

Heather's writing style is really easy to understand. I love all the analogies she uses in this book to explain protein, fiber, and blood sugar control which has been really helpful for weight loss. It's really easy to get confused about what's the best of smoothie to keep me full, especially with everything on social media. With Heather's simple and straight forward formula, I can easily apply it all my smoothies and stay full for hours!

Heather is a wonderful dietitian! I have worked with Heather for a few years now and she has showed me how to balance my food and my blood sugar. I lost twenty pounds with Heather and smoothies were a great addition . It’s a delicious meal all in one keeping me satisfied for hours. Her recipes are easy and simple and delicious almost like eating dessert. This book is wonderful! These are all smoothies that have been tried and shared and I can definitely speak from enjoying her smoothies recipes that you will not be disappointed and you will be amazed how satisfying they are. Add this book to your collection but keep it out because it is one that you will use over and over. Heather shares a lot on her social media account and now offers all these delicious recipes in her new book.

I'm a true believer in balancing blood sugars for weight loss and weight maintenance. Heather explains how this system works in your body so that you can understand everything you need to know about hacking your meals to stay full and stay on plan with your health goals. Then it jumps right into the smoothies which are organized well and taste amazing! I've already made 5 and I can't wait to get through them all! So much fun being able to be excited about quick and easy healthy meals with her recipes!
