New York Zero is a post-viral wasteland broken up into three distinct districts. The Green Zone is heavily militarized. The Yellow Zone is an overcrowded refugee camp, nothing more than a quarantined shanty town. The war-ravaged nightmare known as the Red Zone is where the Blacklight virus has completely overrun the once-great city's skyscrapers and population.

This was a good twist from just another F.P.S., the graphics were very well put forth, the action was a challenge, the bonuses were grand, and the
quick challenges nice to give one a comparison to other players, normally I do not get to see others abilities as I never play co-op or online for
many reasons. It was fun to develope the different weapon skills of the main character. Wonderful play field layouts also! Only complaint on this game would be: MAKE IT A LONGER game overall!!! Good price, prompt delivery as promised by seller. One of this year's BEST games in my humble opinion for the PC format. Happy whipping!!

I purchased and downloaded this game on 25th Of Nov 2012. Not only does it run smoothly (with no issues what so ever) but the game itself is really good in my opinion. The story line is not bad at all. Many prototype fans didn't like the idea of not being Alex Mercer again. I was not very enthusiastic for the idea as well, but I didn't mind. I was curious. And it turned out better than I expected. Further, I have read and seen the PC game was widely criticized for being a bad port. I do not see that. My Desktop PC is not the latest in its specifications; A 2.6 Quad core intel processor, 8GB DDR2 RAM, 260 GTX Gigabyte Nvidia graphic card. I do recall that the game automatically downloaded something like a patch once it was installed. I also made sure all my drivers were updated. Anyway I think they did a well-done job in this sequel.

I have played several first person shooters. This is the first game I've played in years that is "second person" - you follow the avatar from behind and/or slightly above. As a result I find that it is very easy to get into a situation where the "camera" position is not tracking where the Heller model is facing. I've had situations where Heller lands facing a wall and when I execute a turn, the view rotates but he does not. It's frustrating, especially if he is taking damage from behind. I have a GTX660 card so I don't think that this is due to lag. But this occurs only a small percent of the time. I find the game play to be enjoyable and moderately addictive overall.

If you have anything that vaguely resembles a conscience, this game is SERIOUSLY TROUBLING. In many shooters, some pretext is made for the fact that your character has to commit vast amounts of bloody murder, such as "the bad guys are all evil" or "the bad guys are already dead" or both. In this game you have some of that, but the outdoor areas of the entire game are filled with people who look like desperate and abused refugees. The game situation requires you to commit a huge amount of carnage amongst these helpless bystanders, who occasionally take to flight and run. Even when you are actively trying not to kill them, the lack of fine control that you have over Heller means that many, many of these people will become splotches of gore on a frequent basis. Would it have been so hard to make this a little less morally ambiguous? A good example of this is the tank levels. You have to drive this enormous piece of armor around on heavily populated streets. People barely even notice that heavy machinery is bearing down on them.

The poor doctor has been captured, killed and infected with a virus. He must get revenge against those that murdered him and kidnapped his family. A great game for those who love survival horror games. To start the game if you have a quad core CPU or higher you have to set it for dual core. As you enter the game you can set the affinity back to use all cores and you should get a stable frame rate.

Decent game but not as good as the first one and has its problems. For one, it is wayyy too short. Also, the game does not prepare you to defeat the final boss. It is like smooth sailing all the way to the final boss. I can beat him on normal but on Hard it just becomes a major chore. I think it's the first time i've given up because I just got bored using all that time to figure out the game mechanics/strategy to defeat one guy at the end while the rest of the game is so easy.

Prototype 2 is very similar to Prototype 1 in almost all aspects. The graphics are a little better, but nothing to write home about. The key Amazon provided me activated with no issues via Steam. There is a perculiar USB human interface device issue that prevents the game from starting, but the work around is easy enough. Google it if you have the same issue I did.

The Good: Entertaining and cohesive story, fun and focused combat, deeper leveling system, looks good

The Bad: Missions are repetitive, too easy in spots

Prototype 2 is a huge improvement over the first game in every way possible. The first game was clumsy, lifeless, and just got boring after a few hours. Prototype 2 is streamlined and even changed the gameplay style to that of a hunter instead of a destroyer. The game is so much fun that I hope people who didn't like the last game will come back, like I did, and enjoy this game. You play as James Heller who gets turned into an Evolved by Alex Mercer. His goal is to shut down Blackwatch and Gentek who are trying to test a biological weapon on the populace. Alex Mercer is now your enemy and you must revenge the death of your wife and daughter.

The story is actually one of the first things that you notice is improved. The first game had a disjointed irritating way of telling the story; it was random and mashed around. The delivery is still the same in which you get tid-bits here and there by consuming key people in the game, but it all makes sense and is actually quite engaging and entertaining. I always wanted to know what happened next, but even side quests have story tid-bits that you will want to hear. The game is open for a third sequel which I hope comes along. Heller is much more likable character than Mercer and is a little more relatable. Alex is a jerk and is selfish, so he plays a better enemy this time around.

The combat is another major improvement because it focuses more one-on-one combat then killing dozens of enemies everywhere. There's a better lock-on system that allows you to track certain enemies and the auto-target it pretty smart.
