I love how he was able to articulate and Speak to the soul. I was able to resonate and identify with the writer his words spoke to me like poetry. I had to make a great effort to pace myself when reading this book. Even with that said, I read 80 pages on the first day and ultimately still finished this book in a few days. Even when forcing myself to take a break, I still couldn't pace myself enough simply because I just couldn't put the book down once I picked it up and started reading. It is truly a fascinating story and he didn't miss a beat.

About the Author

Dre Evans is a distinguished graduate from the US Naval Academy with a BS in naval architecture and marine engineering. He's a Harry S. Truman Scholar, an MIT Lincoln Lab fellow, and an Air Force Institute of Technology fellow. 

Dre is one of the first Black Plebe Summer Regimental Commanders in USNA history and has served in the Naval Nuclear Power School, the Pentagon, and aboard multiple naval warships.

Today, he's an entrepreneur, podcast host, and public speaker. He shares his experience with violence, real estate, and leadership to inspire people across all cultural backgrounds. He can be reached at drmultifamily.com or on all social media platforms @drmultifamily.

Wall Street Journal and International Best Selling Author Dre Evans joined a gang on the South Side of Chicago at the age of 12. But one terrifying moment, with bullets flying past his head in an attempt to kill him, he had to decide: was his desire to belong and find reputation in the streets worth dying for? What happened next shocked the city and made history.

In 2016 Dre graduated from the U.S Naval Academy at the top of his class with a degree in Engineering and became an MIT Fellow and President Truman Scholar.

He is the CEO of “That’s My Property,” an investment firm that owns over 98 apartment units valued above $13M. He is also the host of the #1 real estate meetup in San Diego called "Opportunity Knocks" and the host of the "Multifamily By the Slice" real estate podcast.

When he is not analyzing real estate deals or writing in a coffee shop, Dre spends most of his time reading, engaging in outreach within the community, or working out. His dream is to teach more kids and young adults about the importance of financial literacy and the power of books.
