I have two cats, one long haired multicolor and a short haired solid black who sheds as bad as the one with long hair.
I have always used the rollers with the stickey sheets. They work fine, but are kinda time consuming. And I have to use a lot of sheets to de-cat my couch, chair, and bar stools. I thought this little item might be a quicker-picker-uper. No such luck. I cleaned (at) my couch with it, going over the entire couch. I could go over the entire couch with just one sheet of this material because.....nothing was sticking to it. Knowing that is a phenomenon that never happens in my house, I then used the sticky sheet roller and the first cushion yielded a roller sheet full of hair from both my cats. Then I tried the still pristine Pruven Pet Hair Remover on the chair - different fabric on chair - same results from the Pruven Remover. Didn't even try the bar stools. 'Pruven Pet Hair Remover' is definitely a misnomer or false-advertising because in my house all it has pruven is that I need to stick with the sticky rollers.
I assume that if you have 'just the right fabric' on your furniture to mesh with this Pet Hair Remover product you might get lucky with the useless little tool, but I don't see that happening too often.
First "BUT..." - the "velcro" sheets are disposable. The write-up seemed to imply that you'd discard a sheet every time you use it. It comes with 5 sheets, and says they are replaceable - but from WHERE? Since I got this online, looking for replacement sets is not something I'm likely to do.
Next "But..." - the "velcro" is rough. I would not want to brush fine clothing with it! It feels like it would be too hard on delicate fabrics - I even worry about the couch holding up under months and years of brushing at it.
This only costs $7-and-change at the time of this writing, which is not a huge investment...
BUT I can buy those hair remover rollers of sticky tape for $1 at a nearby dollar store. They are cheap, easy to use, and do an excellent job of picking up about every cat hair from either fine clothing or furniture - without pilling or roughing up the fabric.
So - recommended - with some serious buts.
This tool is easy to use and it doesn't take a lot pressure or repetitive strokes to remove most of the pet hair off my micro-suede couches. The non-sticky sheets are easy to apply to the remover tool but when you remove them be sure to do it over a trash can because the force of pulling it off loosens the debris in the sheets.
I think this tool works better than a typical lint roller, the only difference you wouldn't want to use this on delicate clothes because of it's velcro-like surface but denim type clothing would be okay to use on. However if you have a pet that sheds a lot or multiple pets, which I fall into both categories, it will take several sheets to remove your pet's hair which in time could get costly.
I found this pet hair remover is good for quick hair pick-ups but not as heavy duty hair remover, it will not replace the regular use of a vacuum cleaner.

I've got a small mutt who sheds quite a bit. This didn't work for us at all - barely picked up any dog hair from furniture or clothing. Read morePublished on May 13, 2013 by DynomiteWins
This didn't seem to do very much very quickly when it came to me removing cat hairs from our comforter, our couch, or my clothes. Read morePublished on February 21, 2013 by Diane B. Wilkes
I have waited to gather the words to rate this product. It works! Can't say more than that. It removes hair on couches, beds, etc. like it advertises.Published on February 10, 2013 by Altar Boy

This is an interesting device - it doesn't use sticky tape-like paper to get the fur off. Instead, it uses a Velcro-like plastic sheet to pull the hair off the surface. Read morePublished on November 23, 2012 by Amazon Customer
This pet hair picker-upper works okay... not great, just okay. It gets about 85% of the dog hair (American Eskimo) off of the surfaces I run it over. Read morePublished on November 11, 2012 by Carol M
This is a pretty good pet hair removal product, but the only thing is that you have to get a bunch of replacement sheets once you use up the 5 that it comes with. Read morePublished on October 27, 2012 by C. CRADDOCK
This has a comfortable shape to hold, and it has a good surface area to use on furniture surfaces, but it misses an awful lot of fuzz. Read morePublished on October 22, 2012 by J. Howard
