Update 7/27: The quality of the sound is getting noticeably better as they are breaking in. These as definitely become an all time favorite set of cans...
Quite simply, this is a gorgeous set of headphones. They look beautiful, they feel wonderful, and are by all accounts an incredibly well made pair of headphones. They have that almost mystical quality that makes you want to hold them, touch them, and run your fingers along the seams. Like a Ferrari you listen to. I tend toward the utilitarian, but these are just gorgeous. As Pryma says on their web site, their goal with these headphones is to deliver good sound as well as style and fashion. Mission accomplished.
From the unpacking to the assembly you, or whoever you give these to, will be very pleased. With respect to presentation, they nailed it. (This is not your typical bubble wrap packaging or a box designed to be more theft-proof than glamorous. Unpacking is more an experience than simply ripping open the box.
As to the practical, I think that these headphones sound great, and are reasonably comfortable. I only gave them a short test drive and found that the bass was surprisingly good, the mid-range and highs were clear and crisp, and the headphones were comfortable. Unfortunately, with digital music it is difficult to really put a set of headphones through its paces. But for the songs I listened to, which had a lot of range and some symphonic sections, they sounded great. For ergonomics, the earcups are on the small size, and the strap may need to be adjusted a bit to ensure comfort for long listening sessions, but neither of these were problems. You also need to make sure the cords are fully seated in the earcups so you don't lose sound intermittently. It seems you can have them plugged in but not fully seated, which may make you think the wire is shorting, but it just isn't fully plugged in.
All that being my personal assessment, the proof is in the pudding: I got these as a gift for my wife. She was completely blown away by how beautiful these are, the look and feel, and the sound quality. She put down her Sony MDRV600's(an excellent old school headphone) and hasn't picked them up again. She has been listening to music(she has very broad musical taste), podcasts, and watching streaming videos with them, and is very pleased with them. In fact, very pleased really doesn't describe it. She keeps emailing me telling me how incredible they are.
Whether these headphones are worth the price is a decision you have to make, but rest assured that if you decide they are, you will be pleased with them. I worked in audio for several years, and have listened to many audiophile quality speaker systems and excellent headphones by Grado, Sennheiser, Sony, and others. The headphones we use most at home are Sennheiser HD280's and Sony MDRV-600's. Now, it will probably be the Pryma.
Update 9/20/2016: Still Awesome!
Six months in, and these are by far my wife's favorite headphones. She listens to music on them for hours every night and after six months, still loves them. She got a small headphone amplifier for them since her iPod, iPhone, and Mac couldn't drive them as loud as she wanted. This also improved the sound even more. There may be a DAC in her future.
