The book it's a picturesque depiction of life on Venice Beach CA and of it's colorful people, seen through the eyes of a goodhearted nitwit homeless youngster. The three levels of plot (the murder mystery, the mystery that plays out in Harp's diary, and the strange relationship between two protagonists in one head) will keep you guessing right up to the very last page.
Make time and read this book. It's original, very well written and it's very witty.
