Great album for salsa lovers! I recently saw this band perform at One Ten Thai in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Great music & musicians! Wanted to buy the vinyl at the show but was low on cash, nice to see Amazon had it. They killed it. If you get a chance go see them live, Do It!

One of their best and yet another clear indication that Bio Ritmo stands at the forefront of innovative salsa in the U.S. Other countries in Europe know they are one of the best Latin music groups we have going -- I hear they are worshiped in Columbia. More people should know it here. Easily one of the most interesting and enjoyable "world" music albums I heard this year. These are veteran musicians making passionate, beautiful music that crosses boundaries. One can only hope they release a live album soon, their live shows are amazing. They deserve much wider acclaim.
Not what I expected from Bio Ritmo. Too frantic. Do wish Amazon would allow listening to any music they list. I would have known and would not have made the purchase.
Bio Ritmo is a very original band. It's very hard to compare to other bands because they don't sound like anyone else, don't try to sound like anyone else, and do many things outside the normal salsa conventions.The piano/keyboard is way out there.
Their first track is an invitation/attack to DJs and dancers who are always listening to the same old tracks to adjust and try something new. I loved Perdido, which starts out as a Puertorican Danza and later breaks into a fast paced Salsa. I never quite figured out what to call Codeina, it's certainly not Salsa rhythmically and sounds middle-eastern. A lot of their tracks start out slowly, with an odd psychedelic touch that put you in a different frame of mind than you expect for Salsa.
If you are a traditionalist, you will hate them. If you like pushing your musical boundaries, you must listen to them.
Once again, the folks from Bio Ritmo have exceeded themselves. This latest album is without a doubt their best work - and if they were good, now they're better.
All the songs have such an energy that you want to put the cd in the player, press play, turn the volume to 11 and dance for an hour!

Worth buying! You will love the contagious rhythm and vocals. Among my favorites: “Perdido”, with its unique introduction and romantic lyrics, and “Se les Olvidó”, with a catching “lelolai” and the background sounds of a “Cuatro”. Great CD.
