The second part of the book does a nice job of providing an overall plan for dealing with the above issues, but in of of itself, it's not enough to be the definitive answer. I would say that this is a great book for those who are suffering from OCD and related traumas, but further reading and professional help will be needed as an adjunct to the material covered in the book.
Those who are suffering from depression, OCD, etc., are usually not in a state of mind where reading through a lengthy book will be of much help. With that said, this book is one of the best ones that I've read on the subject, but I've also read much shorter volumes that have been just as helpful.
My advice to anyone seeking answers to the issues addressed in this book, would be to seek professional help first. Than, using the material in the book will be much more helpful, as it will supplement the advice/treatment that will be provided by a mental health professional. This is a good book, just not the final answer, or a standalone solution. I do applaud the authors for trying to provide the definitive answer, but even they would admit that supplementary professional help would be a great complement to the material provided here.
