Purchased from Menards on sale for $132 plus tax. For that price, you either get a junk 2 cycle generator or this. I use this mainly for dry camping with camper. I can charge batteries and run the air conditioner during the hot summer days. Right out of box, (after adding oil and gas) started second pull but no electrical power provided, called the number on the "do not return to store" tag and representative was helpful saying I need a new voltage regulator and asked if I could do it or they could set me up with local warranty repair center with a 2-6 week wait time. I opted to replace it myself with the information the rep. provided to replace it. Long story short, when I removed the cover I found a wire fell of the connector to generator, plugged wire back on connector and now electrical power and a free replacement voltage regulator. so far I only used a few times, but so far always starts and does what I need to do! 4 star rating but, I had to drop a star for the fact I had to fix it right out of the box and product quality control.

Instructions did not mention the concealed shipping blocks to keep the generator from vibrating during shipment. the generator started right up and ran for a few minutes then shut down. It took a long time before I could find the problem after restarting it ran very good used about 3 gallons for a 12 hour period. Able to run 18 cu. ft. refrigerator a few lights and fans

Firstly, I purchased this on a close-out buy from a local retailer, not my beloved Amazon, about a year ago. I added 2-cycle oil per the manual and some gasoline and it started on the first pull! I've used this on and off for various outdoor projects where electricity has been scare (like my Marina where I've used this for quite a bit of boat work) and it's never failed to run. It's SUPER quiet, but can NOT be run indoors due to carbon-monoxide poisoning (clearly stated on a label) so I use it only for outdoor work. I've run professional Makita polishers, and various vacuums and power tools off the working load of this unit and it's been great. Just note that, like all gas equipment, I recommend you winterize it by letting it run for a few minutes and then shutting off the gas using the GAS SHUTOFF valve first until the unit quits, and then shutting the power switch to OFF before storing it for the winter.

Bought this little generator from Lowes up here in Canada. Mine is a GP 2000C, which I think differs from the 2000 in that mine tskes straight gas, not a gas oil mix 2 sttoke. It started up very easily and still does The only problem I ran into, has been solved now by their customer service. It would run 5 min or up to 20 but then sputter off with no load. Was just trying it out to see how reliable it is. Well? I had put 300ml of oil in but that wasnt enough! You have to fill it all the way up with oil to the point where its ready to leak out. Then it will run fine. The auto low oil sensor is what caused mine to turn off. I had plenty of oil in it but apparently not enough.

Only drawback I see is that I doubt it spits out 1400 watts. It wouldnt run my Makita skillsaw n just sputters out.

But for a decent little gennie at a great price,I cant complain.

Sad that this forum is used for all sizes. Cannot get a true review. I bought the 3500 watt unit. Runs excellent. Not real loud. Rolls nice. I can lift it into my lifted truck (just barley). Not quite big enough to run the whole house, but great for a few things at a time. Takes 10w30 oil, but is not included. Takes like .60 ml. Local store had .595 ml bottle, do it was perfect. Definitely would buy another. Probably the 10k or the diesel unit.

Bought it for a tailgate and received it on time. Fired it up the night before after toping off all fluids and it ran fine for 5 minutes until I turned it off. Brought it to the tailgate, started up and ran for all of five minutes and refused to turn back on. It was raining at the tailgate but we kept it dry so the rain should not have been a problem. We tried everything but it would not turn on again. Everyone else who had generators there offered to help us with ours but they couldnt get it to go, and everyone else's various generators worked in the rain. There is no return on this so Im not really sure what to do with this thing now. My advice is just buy a different generator.

Runs my Vortex warmers perfectly
So the first thing you'll notice when you see the generator is its not a Honda.
I paid mid 150 for mine (and 15 more for an extended year of warranty) so that also is not like a Honda.
When you pick it up it only weighs ~50lbs so that's somewhat like a Honda.
You'll notice it's not an inverter model either so it doesn't idle down unfortunately. It stays loud when its not loaded.
The pull cord on it is light and easy to pull.
So how loud is it... Its quiet enough google now could hear me when I asked how many watts 2.5horse power is. Unfortunately people at the track still complained when I didn't have a long extension cord to distance it from me.
Performance: I first started by plugging in the garage door opener, 1/2 HP craftsman. No problemo. Next I plugged in a 500 watt halogen worklight. Problemo. Now granted incandescent lights when cold have a low resistance much lower then when hot. Motor bogged down and died, a pull or two later on the starter and were back up and running, try it again slight dip in rpm And we're off running no problem. Next up was the 2.5 HP(peak) (1 864.24968 watts )air compressor.. Now stalled load on a motor is usually high and running also relatively high. it would give maybe half a rev on the compressor and the genny would die out.
Runs the motorcycle warmers perfectly.

When cold it seems to bog a bit more then warm.

Quieter then my snowblower

It has a cute little gas gauge on the tank too to show how much gas is in the 1.6 gallon tank. Its supposed to have an 8 hour duty cycle.

I've used it to power a flourecent shop light and 7.8 amp hammer drill while working on installing a 200 amp feed in my house.
