I don't write many reviews but I wished I could have found the information I am going to share, would have helped me decide what to buy,

I own a Bushnell Equinox Z 6x50 and for the price point its fun gadget to own. The only real complaint I had is the IR light emits a really bright red glow. The red glow is really only noticeable when in line of sight, but chances are whatever you are looking at makes the target in the direct line of sight, and when its total dark the red glow is very obvious. I researched trying to add a filter and different options, but hadn't had any luck. I'm guessing the built in IR light is in the 800-850 nm light range which is why the red glow is so bright. My next option was to try and find a IR light that was in the 900nm range, which should be invisible to the human eye.

I ended up purchasing the Pulsar 940 and the Pulsar L-915 (which uses a laser diode). Both these products are advertised as virtually undetectable / invisible to the naked eye. Well that is NOT true. Both these lights have a red glow when looked at directly even from a distance. The L-915 has a more narrow slit that glows red where as the 940 the whole lens has a red glow. The L-915 is less noticeable then the 940 in that as you look at the light from a distance there is a very small field of view where you can see it, but catch it right and you can spot the light. The 940 vs the stock IR light is nearly undetectable and also requires an almost perfect line of sight with only a small viewing angle. What i mean is, if you were to focus on a person that was looking directly at you, and you moved the person off center of the FOV i don't think the red glow would be able to be seen, but they would still be lit up by the light.

This add-on IR light works well in total darkness. Mine is mounted to my Digisight N550 NV scope. My scope has a built-in IR light that also works well. This unit provides even more "invisible" light. I have to disagree with a previous reviewer about this light. The IR wavelength of this one is "TOTALLY INVISIBLE". The wavelength of the built-in IR on my scope emits a red glow when viewing the front of the scope. This unit has NO RED GLOW, for whatever thats worth. I only really need this unit when its totally black out. The unit is super lightweight and easily mounts to any pic rail.

I have a GenI Yukon NV Scope. This IR light turned it into GenII NV Scope instantly.
200 yards no problem in pitch black. AA batteries. Adjustable beam. Makes my GenI Yukon clear and increases the accuracy and usefulness significantly. It is all here.
Got it very fast and well packaged.

Bottom line is I have $400 in my scope and $115 in this light. GenII's are in the thousands! I win.

Good product, good price, quick delivery.
Used this to put on our Bushnell Equinox Z Digital Night Vision Scope for covert night work.
Works well out to 100 feet or so, and can light up larger things even farther, say 250 foot or so.

I purchased this IR light for a Gen II+ NV scope that already has very good light gathering ability. While the unit seems to be well built, I had a few concerns and issues I'll address. First, it's very lightweight which is a good feature for keeping the overall heft of a rifle down, but it's so light that I question the long-term durability of the unit. Once I mounted this to my rifle, I honestly could not tell much of a difference at all in the view through my NV scope. My honest opinion is that I could actually see better without it, due to it washing out my scope with IR light.

My guess is (again, this is my opinion) that while it might help an inexpensive Gen1 NV scope see better, a higher end NV unit will not benefit from this particular IR light as the beam does not adjust focus well. While you can theoretically adjust the beam on this unit, I found no setting that was beneficial to my setup at all, which is why I returned the unit.

For a higher quality IR light I purchased the TNVC ELR Torch PRO unit; it's made in Germany from aluminum and high quality glass, and it has made a huge improvement using the same setup that I tried the Pulsar with.

I have this attached to my Pulsar Challenger GS 3.5x50 night vision monocular and it blew me away! Fantastic illumination out to 150-200 yards depending on conditions. It is a must have for any night vision set up, especially if you are not impressed with your stock IR Light. Night vision is only as good as it's infrared illuminator!

This unit is good quality. However, unlike the description the flashlight does emit a red glow (at the lens), so if you want to be 'unnoticed,' this won't work for you. Also, the 940 IR is much weaker than the 850 IR.

It is not as bright as I expected, it does work as it should, fits well on the 550 night sight and saves some of the battery drain on that sight as it has it's own batteries. It did not really extend the distance that you can see through the sight at night. About 80-90 yards is it. I bought it with the hope that it would give me another 20 yards or so of range.
