About the Author

New York Times bestselling author, Deborah Bladon, has never read a romance hero she didn't like. Her love for romance novels began when she was old enough to board the bus, library card in hand to check out the newest Harlequin paperbacks. She's a Canadian by heart, and by passport, but you can often spot her in New York City sipping a latte and looking for inspiration for her next story. Manhattan is definitely her second home.

She cherishes her family and believes that each day is a gift for writing, for reading, and for loving.

JAW DROPPING! Another good start to a new series from Deborah. She gets me every time on the twists and turns in the book. The chemistry between Jessica and Nathan is so overwhelmingly good. Just the scenes of them together I can imagine every one of it and cannot wait for what book 2 holds!

So, I highly recommend this book to read! You will not regret it, but maybe your panties will ;)

Love all of Deborah's stuff! She is in my top 3 authors list! Love how she writes and makes you feel the book rather than just giving you something to read. I love even though she writes different series they all tie in together so even though you finish a series you still get some interactions with that character through other stories! This one had a heck of a cliffy! Deborah is good for those! Pick this one up as well as the rest of her stuff! It is well worth it! Support your self published authors and get their books into as many hands as possible!

This series was absolutely horrible. As I was reading, I couldn't help but think that a 14 year old drama queen had written it. Everything was so repetitive and just kept dragging on. The sex scenes...sad. Really and truly pathetic. There was really nothing to this story at all. Nathan screws up repeatedly, Jessica gets mad and tries to take off, saying "I can't do this", "I have to leave", and always ended up having sex with him. The writing was also extremely horrible. Would it kill someone to have a book edited these days? I know I only paid $4 for the series, but I have to say...that was the biggest waste of $4 that I have spent in my life. Save your money, people.

“It’s a physical relationship.” His hands pull on his belt as does up his pants. “If either of us feel anything emotional, we end it.”

These novellas should be read in order:
Part 1: Pulse I
Part 2: Pulse II
Part 3: Pulse III
Part 4: Pulse IV

In Pulse, part 1 small-town girl Jessica Roth, Jess has moved to New York City to start anew. While in search of a one-night stand she encounters enigmatic attorney, Nathan Moore, Nate. Soon a night of endless f*** ing leads to many more as Jessica becomes Ms. Wednesday night.

JESSICA ROTH, Jess, Jessie: 23 years/Former paramedic/Aspiring chef/Blond hair/Blue eyes.
Five words to describe Jessica Roth, Jess: Indecisive, conflicted, weak, annoying and needy.

NATHAN MOORE, Nate: 30 (31) years/Attorney/$$$$/Black hair/Light blue eyes.
Six words to describe Nathan Moore, Enigmatic, complex, secretive, distant, demanding and commanding.

Story follows them as they try to sort out this borderline compulsive sexual attraction they have to each other. Jessica quickly becomes conflicted, but Nathan is set on strictly sex while demanding exclusivity from her.

Just as I was thinking that I wished Nathan would be more unreasonably possessive versus needy…. Nathan throws a curb ball like no other - 5-star cliffy!!! There is no other option, but for me to skip on over to part 2, Pulse II for the continuation of their story.

Steamy sex scenes! Shockingly awesome cliffy! Love the book covers!

Nathan is quite the hottie! Based on his behavior he should not have been judging Jax to Ivy in Obsessed.
Jessica meets Nathan in a club while looking for a one night stand. Their chemistry is hot and he wants to continue to see Jessica (one night a week). The problem is that he has a different girl for each night of the week and wants her to himself. What a cliffhanger...

First I'll dispense with the criticisms:

It was too short and I really would have liked more of a defined timeline and more of Jessica's interactions with her roommates. Even some more time spent talking about the kids she cooks for and their nanny. There were many opportunities to make this book meaty-er something substantial. I was left feeling like I knew Jessica's story but I didn't know her as a person at all.

I also have issues with these "serials" or "episodes" that a lot of the independent writers are using. There is a right and a wrong way to do this. Cliffhanger or no the author should always make the length of the serial worth while and this one didn't achieve that. I was left thinking: "That's it?" The ending seemed predictable and I originally thought: "Okay, double life, what's so new about that?"

Basically if you're going to make a cliffhanger, try something a little less cliche so the reader isn't left feeling cheated. I almost don't care about the characters enough to continue because there's no mystery left. Why would I end up buying the next in the serial?

Well, luckily I was curious enough to go ahead and download the preview of the next in the series and that interested me enough to continue. I will tell you I am pleased so far.

Now to the good stuff:

Absolutely worth the buy! I loved it! It was entertaining and steamy, plus there were a lot of great lines too. Despite my dislikes of this book I couldn't help but get into the plot of this book.

Small town girl goes to the big city to make a new life for herself after a devastating breakup. So she stays with a friend and of course Jessica is introduced to Manhattan nightlife.
