They really pulled out the big guns for this one. The artist list is amazing and so is the impressive list of massive pop hits. Each song is done very well and sounds great. Worth the download.

This is probably one of the best compilation albums you can get in the market. I've been following the series since volume one. With each new release I am getting more and more pleased with the quality of the songs and artists they choose. To date I would say that Volume 3 of the Pop Goes Punk goes series is the best. My only complaint is that sometimes the artists take a good song a make the punk sound a little too harsh. But all in all this is a good album.

If you are looking for a few songs to buy versus the whole album I recommend:

Airplanes - The Ready Set (It is disappointing that lacks the graceful voice of the Paramore singer. But I believe this song to be a major highlight of volume three.)

Down - Breathe Carolina (The cover isn't 'unique' in my opinion. But it is the most accurate sound a like the album.)

Bad Romance - Artist vs. Poet (Very nice vocals and sound)

Bulletproof - Family Force Five (Accurately depicts the vocal quality of the original singer.)

In My Head - Mayday Parade (A nice solid cover.)

After listening to the samples of the music and noticing that some of the artists are Christian artists, I am a bit disappointed with some of the lyrical content of a few of the songs. Breathe Carolina does an outstanding job covering the song Down, but why add the "F" word in the Chorus? Even the original version of the song is free from profanity. I feel that the album should have a Parental Advisory to warn listeners before buying.

So let me start by admitting I'm a cover song junkie, and I love to hear an artist make someone else's song their own, especially if its a good song (see Johnny Cash: Hurt). However, this album is like the others in that two of every three tracks is some young emo-esque band trying to make their way into your hearts by screaming the lyrics to Katy Perry or Justin Timberlake and it does not work. This happens on most of the other "punk-goes" albums, but there are some gems in there too. Not on this album. I'd say skip it and go for the first two volumes or pick your songs, but don't buy the whole thing. You'll regret not buying that Kenny G album you skipped over to do it.
