Let me start by saying that I liked this game from the very first scene! It is a good story: you are a detective looking for a missing boy in a town overrun by mechanical puppets and evil spirits. The graphics are crisp and detailed, and you can zoom the screen if you need to. However, I kept seeing weird black squares of pixels throughout the game in every scene. These were very distracting. I am playing on first gen kindle fire, so maybe it was my device (or the evil spirits!).

The game has a lot of hidden object scenes, and the rest is standard point and click with inventory objects you use along the way, and some interesting puzzles to solve. Here's where the game is different than others - there are NO hints, NO map, no clear directions, no journal, no tasks or objectives, nothing. Only during the hidden object scenes do you get the hint button, the rest of the time you are on your own. Objects remain in the inventory scene after scene, and I spent a little time wandering around trying to figure out where/how/when to use them. (when the free demo ends, you still have inventory items).

Areas of interest sparkle, and I could only find 2 or 3 areas of interest in each room - it looked like there should be many more. For example, there are a lot of very detailed puppets that when you click on them do nothing - it looked like they would do something or be part of the story. I felt like I was missing something, but after reading the other reviews, I realize that the game is more simple than I thought - just explore an area and move on to the next area.

I think overall it's an interesting game with an engaging story - even though there aren't any formal hints or objectives, you can figure out what to do by just progressing through the game, nothing is so difficult that you are left stranded in any one scene. It's definitely worth the download since you can play for free and then purchase the full game (like all the Big Fish games do).

The lack of any nudge-in-the-right-direction annoyed me. I liked the game, but a little help would have been nice.
HO scenes are big and there are tons of them. There is a huge zoom, and the graphics are good, so they were bearable--they are not my favorite thing. The mini-games were easier than in other games, but I wish there would have been more of them. In fact, I think the game could have been much more--all the missed opportunities for mini-games and adventure-all the beautiful scenery we passed by--it makes the game seem really light on content, IMO.
The music was great, a nice variety. Really enjoyed it.
Played ok on Kindle Fire 2nd gen.

enjoyed the game the only reason for the 4star instead of 5star is the hints are only available in the search and find games so you could have a hard time figuring out what was next but not to hard to work it out

I liked this game. I have to admit that it wasn't quite as exciting as some and I wasn't always sure whether I'd cleared an area of all of the things there were to do, nor was I sure whether the tools I needed were behind me or ahead of me so I spent a fair amount of time clearing areas. That said I didn't use any help, found everything I needed and completed the "mission". Some of the tasks were completed in unique, but quite sensible ways. You just had to think about what you had available that might do the job. A pretty good twist toward the end. I sometimes think it's a shame that these lovely scenes only have one or two things to do in them and you move on. It seems such a waste of the graphic designers talents. Maybe they could revisit scenes during the course of the stories to make more use of them and give us more opportunity to appreciate the work.

I found the black flashing pixels disappeared on the new Fire. As far as the game goes, it was just a bit above 3 stars. The player doesn't need to walk around too much, but it's a bit confusing in the start of the game because there are no arrows to help direct the game play. It's more HO than mystery game and the puzzles are a bit too easy. Graphics are nice, but the player expects there to be more to do in each scene. The length of the game is about average for this type of game but there are no extras I know of.

If you are like me and love the point-and-click mystery games and HATE the hidden object sections that waste time in them, then this game is not for you. Every scene is a HOG. Plus, on the Kindle Fire 1st generation, there are annoying little black flickering pixels. I had hoped the game would improve after the unlocking. I was wrong; it got worse. I'm sorry I didn't stop at the free part.

I love these mystery games, but some are too easy and some are overly challenging and that makes them not fun to play. Big Fish games seems to know how to give you just the right balance. This game is fun and has a great story line! Lots of fun! I've been playing it all day!

If you like these kinds of games you will this one as well. Good mystery...good puzzles. I had to backtracked some as some parts were a bit harder to decipher but it would be no fun if it was easy right?! Great game!
