Top Customer Reviews
Prior to buying this mix I had seen pictures of previous reviews and thought the cake looked pretty thin. But, the pictures are deceiving because the end result was a good sized cake.
I bought this cake mix on long with the K9Cakery silicone cake mold. Totally worth it!
Lastly, I cannot speak for the frosting because I did not use it. I saw what other reviewers had said about their dogs not liking the frosting, and just did not feel like making a cake with a frosting that my dogs would not eat. So I made my own frosting. 8 oz cream cheese ( you can also use yogurt or cottage cheese or any dairy free yogurt)
2tbsp of honey
Some cinnamon ( I just sprinkled and tasted add according to your liking)
Note: The chocolate looking treats are not chocolate. I melted carob into Halloween silicone candy molds and add that to the cake.
#1 NOTE TO BUYERS: DO NOT PUT THE CAKE IN THE FRIDGE AFTER YOU BAKE IT AND FROST IT. The reason is the cake hardens really fast for some reason. leave it out so it can retain the moisture.
The night I made it, I put it in the fridge after I baked it, took it out to frost it, put it back in the fridge. Once it was set, I took it out so they can have cake and it was really hard. lol
#2 NOTE TO BUYER; GRADUALLY PUT WATER IN THE FROSTING POWDER UNTIL IT THICKENS TO YOUR LIKING.
OTHER THAN THAT, THIS CAKE WAS GREAT AND I AM DEFINITELY REPURCHASING FOR MY SIMBA WHEN ITS HIS BDAY!
