Pure Conspiracy is part of The After Eden Series. This novella is meant to tie together the books that are already released with the future books in the series. The events take place between book #3 and #4. While this is part of the series it can be read as a standalone.
Except for some flashbacks, the events in this novella take place from August to October in the year 2096. For me this book is a primer to summarize where the world stands at this point.
The world is radically different (in some ways) from our world today. It has been divided into three superpowers (United States, Islamic Caliphate, and the Chinese-Indian Alliance) and two rising nations (Russian Bloc and Brazil). There are religious enclaves (Faithers - New Protestant Order, New Jewish Continuum, New Catholic Order, Mormon Order, African Collective, Shogun, and Magi) that exist on their own. There are other areas outside the major cities and enclaves including the Troglands (imagine the Mad Max movies).
Some readers will find the format of this novella confusing due to all the multiple viewpoints. But like that it is written chronologically. It really helped me understand the timeline.
This is definitely a series that I want to continue reading!

Reads like it is written to set the stage for a complex intertwined plot of at least six groups in future books. Uses many common names differently than their current meaning. So busy doing all this that the story is very difficult to follow or care about. Plot centers around everything we know today being gone and replaced with opposites. Clever, but I will invest my time reading more thought provoking and entertaining books. Some may enjoy this because it is so different, but not for me.

This is supposed to be a stand alone novel that would introduce me to the series. I am avid reader who loves convoluted plots but this was impossible. I don't get it, am sorry I read to the end, and won't try to get any of the others.

I just want to make it clear that I did receive this as a review copy but it has not impacted my review.
What I loved about this book was it finally tied together all three of the previous novels. Each of the previous novels tells a story of one or two religious groups in the future as they are battling for their survival on what is the even of WWIII. This book finally has all the religious groups with their problems figured out and can start acting on the world stage to ensure their survival in the new TEK world. This book does a perfect job with bringing all the stories together to form one story line to get ready for what will be WWIII in the upcoming books.
I am writing this after reading and loving the first three main books in the After Eden Series. While I gave this book four stars I can see how it could have been only three (after having read the first three books). The reason is that because this book seems to be intended as a bridge between the first three and what will be the last three and had a lot of exposition in the beginning as it tries to introduce a new reader to the near and present future. While it does a good job of that it made the first part seem very slow to me.
However once I was able to get past those first little bit it was the book and series I had come to know and love.
Overall this book has more of what you love: Religious Science Fiction (which seem to be a new category created by Dragon), Tek World Goodness, Political Intrigue, Conspiracy.
Great addition to the series and makes me excited for the books to come!

The premise was okay, i mean, i wanted to like it. But then there was to much jumping around. Very hard to figure out where you were in the story. It just didn't flow well.

I was a little undue of my next book to read when I happened across this. I'll admit it took a minute to comprehend what exactly was happening, but once I got into it I couldn't put it down! Great read and intriguing plot line. I'll be checking out the full series next

The major world powers plus Canada etc, are convinced that the destruction of society and rise of anarchy is being orchestrated by a society of Judeo-Christian anarchists.
Allegations of corruption and conspiracy tear international bonds apart as whole governments are being overthrown more by cyber-terrorism than physical threat. A plethora of threat and counter-threat between rival powerful characters means disaster for all - especially 'the man on the street'.
A what if...? scenario that will keep you guessing to the very end of this extensively plotted thriller. Austin Dragon at his very best!
