The book explores Issa's life in terms of his Buddhist faith, with biographical and cultural details that give the reader a deeper appreciation for his poetry. And with great, joyful handfuls of Issa's poems, you're in for a treat that will never lose its sweetness!
As a Haikuist I love this book for the collection itself and reread the Haiku in it for enjoyment. I highly recommend this book.
