A sense of community has always been at the forefront of everything that I have believed in. I remember feeling loved and cared for by our neighbors, our community leaders, and the children I grew up with. When I became an adult, I set out to look for a community at my workplace and was fortunate to find it in the very first school I taught at. Beyond those years, in some of the schools where I worked, I did not have that same sense of community, but as a school principal, I always felt the need to build and sustain a culture that stimulated learning for all students and adults. I always believed that a community should always be developed within a classroom. I believe that things happen for a reason and it has taken me this long to meet a person who embodies what I feel a community should be. I am fortunate to have met Gina and her team at Mighty Networks in September when I became a part of her community design framework and challenge. Listening to her during these master classes gave me hope for what I have been trying to build on social media, which is trying to connect authentically with an audience of like-minded professionals. I was so excited to hear about creating a community with a circle of people that can support and learn from one another. When Gina‘s book became available, I jumped at the chance to be able to read it because I feel like I connect so well with her. I am not disappointed at all in reading her book. It is an extension of what she has taught in the master classes where I’ve had the opportunity to meet and talk to her personally. Listening to her story about her father losing his life at an early age and the community that rallied behind her family through that difficult transition shows that she has the heart of a community at her core. This book will be a resource for me to go back and refer to often as I am trying to create a community for people who need what I offer right now. I am so excited to have had the opportunity to not only meet Gina personally but to also have her book as a reference that I can utilize throughout my upcoming years. Go buy the book, you will not be disappointed.

Many of the reviews so far have articulated my thoughts way better than I could.
I decided to post some of my fav lines from Purpose and let the book somewhat speak for itself.

The book or maybe it should be call a manual or blueprint … goes on to give clear actionable steps to tap into your purpose and create a community with a culture all it’s own.

I’ve been on a journey to build a meaningful community since 4th grade, when I was in my garage with my my bestest friends holding my handmade membership cards. It’s been many many moons since that time and I never quite reached my vision. To answer the authors question … I am ready. I feel confident that now with the plans in my hands (The book Purpose of coarse) … I will finally reach my goal. My life has changed since implementing the easy exercises and steps laid out. I’m excited to see how it will all unfold.
