Today, out of the blue, I received this book in the mail from him. I opened to the first entry and could not put it down until I finished.
I used to get up at 5:00 am to do yoga, meditate, and journal, not kidding. Lately I haven't had the zest to do anything of that nature. I feel inspired to start up my routine again. My alarm is set for tomorrow. (...and tomorrow is Sunday!)
I feel so very, very grateful. This book came just in time.
Thank you, George. I needed this.
I never find someone giving me "happy thoughts" particularly helpful. There's an emptiness. A 'mental chewing gum' factor. Not so with "The Pursuit of Passion." This book is more like a meal to be savored.
George shares where he's coming from (the highs, and the lows) and with that you feel camaraderie. Someone saying, "I've been there. I've had crappy days, too. But let's shake it off, focus on the light and get through the maze together."
George Kahn, clearly a gifted artist from a very young age (the mazes; the music; the writing! How much talent can come from one person??) is also clearly a kind and compassionate person who takes joy from bringing light, love and peace to other people.
I recommend this book highly to anyone who finds themselves in an emotional, professional or creative rut. Which basically could be anyone you know! This book would make a great gift... for anyone who needs to 'restart their heart'.
