There's an area for explaining basic and more complex moves for both Puyo Puyo and Tetris if anyone is playing either game for the first time. Also, don't feel bad if you have a hard time with Puyo. There's a bit of a learning curve (at least there was for me) but it's so much fun when you get it down. The company who put out this game has some nice tutorials on their Youtube if anyone is interested. SegaAmerica is their Youtube handle.
The new "Fusion" game mode took a while to wrap my head around. Tetris blocks and Puyos falling into the same play area at once is crazy.
Lots of Puyo Puyo characters make an appearance, and there are some new Tetris-themed characters too.
The story is silly, but they got an all-star voice acting cast. Chapter 9 in the post-game was, er, interesting.
Super fun as a party game, but have enough joycons such that everybody can get two, because this game REALLY needs the d-pad.
It's really hard to play with just one joycon because you have to use the joystick to move things.
I've been playing Tetris for over 15 years, and this is the most fluid and precise game-play of the puzzle game I've ever had the pleasure of playing. The tutorials and story mode definitely are fantastic for beginners, and I even started getting more serious about Puyo Puyo now after casually playing it on and off for years.
Do yourself a favor and buy one of the top 3 Switch games today!
(Zelda, Mario Kart, and Puyo Puyo Tetris if you're wondering)
