I bought this for my recumbent bicycle. I planned on sewing a pocket for it in the back of the seat. The weather resistance is why I chose this model.
I have not made the change to my bike yet so I have just been carrying it around and using it while I work.
Last night I was changing the belt on my tractor and set it and my phone on a stump and set to work. At some point I picked up my phone and used it to look up something on the internet and then dropped it in my pocket. When it got to dark to work anymore I went inside completely forgetting my speaker. I woke up at midnight to the sound of rain pouring down and thunder shaking the house. I did not even think about the speaker. In the morning as my sister was leaving with the kids for school I remembered it right then. I was currently raining. I threw on some shoes and ran out and grabbed it off the same stump. I slung the loose water off of it and took it inside. It powered up with no problem and synced immediately with my phone a room away. It still sounds great!
The sound quality is real nice, it is loud enough for me and the battery lasts a long time. I have not had it run out yet. I just throw it on the charger each morning after I take my phone off charge then pick it up off the charger after work.
While I would not advocate leaving your electronics out in the rain, I would definitely recommend this speaker.

I haven't had this long, but it works like a dream so far. It's nicely loud and the sound is good, and it was very easy to set up with my tablet. The green is less lime like in the picture and more army green, which I was a bit disappointed with, but it isn't a big deal. The sounds box feels heavy and all the buttons and ports have rubber covers on them, so it appears water resistant, although I haven't tried that out yet and I hope never to need to. It came with a USB charging cord and an AUX jack cable so you can hook it up to mp3 players and other music devices that don't have bluetooth through the headphone jack. This is a nice feature, since I still mostly use a separate mp3 player to listen to music rather than my phone, and it is nice not to have to use headphones. I plan on using this in the kitchen when cooking, baking or washing dishes to either listen to music through my mp3 player or TV shows and TED-type lectures through my tablet. I've used this a little for this purpose, and so far, it is great! There is maybe 1/3 to 1/2 second sound delay behind the video when I'm watching videos, but for what I'm doing, it's just fine. I can watch a few seconds of a show without the delay being a problem, and the way I'm using this, that's all I need. It might get annoying if I was trying to watch a movie or something. For music, it would be completely unnoticeable.

Pyle makes a fantastic speaker, for a very fair price. I have ordered three of the same, or very similar products over the years, and tried several other company's products in between purchases of this Pyle, and I always return the other ones. I work in a UPS truck for 9 to 11 hours a day, and the batter never dies before the end of my shift. It's loud enough to hear over my engine and it's small enough to fit into my cooler. I will only say my only complaint is the charging port will fail at about year 2.5, as it always does. It gets loose, and won't accept the charging cord eventually. But, it's cheap enough to replace without really getting upset about it.

The first thing I noticed about this speaker is the weight. It is not light by any stretch of the imagination. When you take this to a picnic or the beach or wherever, you are definitely going to notice your bag is a lot heavier. The sound quality is good for a speaker this size. The highs are clear. The bass is good, but can be distorted at higher volumes. However I think that is to be expected for a portable speaker. Pairing was easy with my Nexus 5. Using NFC I was up and running in seconds.

Edit: The combined volume/skip buttons are confusing. You're supposed to "long-press" for volume and tap to skip. Of course I am used to them but I frequently use this speaker around other people. They see the volume button and just start tapping. Invariably I hear the songs change and then someone says "Oops! What did I do?" I tell them to just use my phone to control it.

This speaker is AMAZING for the price. I was in the market for a Bose Bluetooth Speaker, but then I saw this speaker for less than HALF the cost of the Bose. This speaker packs awesome sound and to top it off, it is completely waterproof and rugged, which are features that are not even available with the Bose.

I use this speaker in the shower, around the house, outside, and on the boat. The battery life is great and have not had an issue with it yet. I can use it for several hours and not have to charge it.

I would definitely purchase this speaker again, a well worthy investment. No other bluetooth speaker out there can compare for this price.

First, read carefully about the size dimensions. This turned out to be considerably bigger and heavier than I thought it would be, thus making it unsuited for the backpacking speaker I had intended it for. Second, the volume controls are in my opinion poorly designed and cumbersome to navigate. Third, speaking of volume, this just didn't have much. Maybe the sound was fuller, but the power certainly wasn't there. I get more speaker output from my Galaxy S5 active. All in all, the product didn't suit what I needed it for which was a rugged water resistant speaker I could take backpacking. It was too big and heavy with not enough power to warrant the weight. Returned.
