I used to do a lot of coding in Python but hadn't used it much for the past decade. I'm starting to use Python more at work and just wanted a quick brush-up to refresh my memory. I read through this in a day and I'll be buying a slightly more in-depth book that's hopefully much better written.
Bottom line, if you want to learn Python, this book is the wrong resource.
Suggestions to the author:
1. Hire a good editor - it's really important, especially in a book like this.
2. Turn off auto-capitalizing the first letter of lines, or fix it. When the same exact variable is capitalized at the beginning but lowercase when referenced anywhere else in the line it is extremely confusing since just about any programming language in existence will treat "a" and "A" as completely different variables.
Of course the book is free so I guess you get what you pay for.
"Python for Everybody: Exploring Data in Python 3" and "Python for Kids: A Playful Introduction to Programming". For experienced programmers, something like "Python Pocket Reference: Python In Your Pocket" or many other books would be much more useful.
For those that are cost conscious, save your money and just google for python tutorials or online books. You'd be much better off.
