First off, I am a hands on home builder who has set a lot of high end tile. I recently relocated to Hawaii and chose to purchase all new tools rather than shipping everything here. When the need arose for a tile cutting board, I chose this one mainly due to its size and low price. After using this tool on over 8 jobs, here is what I have found:

Pros:
-solid, heavy duty design.
-smooth ball bearing slide action.
-tile support wings very helpful on larger tiles.

Cons:
-fence was not square to scoring wheel line. Mine was nearly 1/8" off over 16". However, there are 2 bolts securing fence to board which can be loosened to properly square fence. (Fence is the edge with measurement marks that the tile is pushed against.)
-tiles requiring heavy pressure to score (some porcelains and ceramics, especially with rough surfaces) are problematic. Not enough pressure and you won't get a straight break. I found that when applying adequate pressure for these types of tile the cutting wheel flexes as it travels. It may start and end at correct measurement but in the middle of the cut can arc out up to an 1/8". No big deal if cut edge is going to be hidden under baseboards, but in the instance of an inside corner on a shower wall this will produce unacceptable grout lines.
-cutting wheel position on tile cannot be seen from above, the exact position you want to be able to see from. It requires bending down and tilting head to see rear position and leaning way far forward, almost to where your head touches surface cutter is resting on, to see front position.

Conclusion:

A decent cutter for the money. Much better than the $20-$50 boards. If you want a precision board, this is not it. Go with Ishii, Sigma or similar.

I attempted to cut 24x6 tile down the long side, after ruining 8 tiles I gave up and rented a wet saw. I tried different technics of pressure both in the scoring and in the breaking and every time it would break along the score for about half the length and then break off as you can see in the photo. This was my first time ever using this type of score and break cutter so I would assume there would be a learning curve, but I always got the same results. Other reviews of this product were great, so maybe mine was defective. It came in a huge box with no padding so it got banged up a bunch and its own box was destroyed so maybe that is why it did not work.
The product itself seems nice and was well made. It was heavy and sturdy and maybe with small tiles it would have worked fine.

I bought this to quickly and cleanly make long straight cuts on 6" x 24" wood grain, porcelain tiles for a basement job. This tool chipped the tiles so much it was just as bad as all the water from a wet saw. I could overlook the chipping since the edges will be hidden under baseboards anyway. What I can't overlook is the pile of wasted tile that broke off the score line, many 90 degrees from the score line. Don't waste your money on this junk. It works "OK" for the 6" cuts, but there are cheaper, smaller cutters that will do that.

This is a great tool. I cannot complain. I tried it on porcelain, ceramic and glass. Works very well.
There are some negative reviews, but you may totally disregard them.
This tool is not for a professional who installs tiles for a living. Professional tile cutters start at $300.
It is an excellent tool for a DIY person, but you have to learn how to use it properly, otherwise you will
end up frustrated with a pile of shuttered tiles.

1) Never score the same line twice. You will get a cleaner cut with insufficient scoring than with scoring twice.
2) You have to apply even pressure along the cut line for flat or glass tile.
3) On glazed tile you need to push through glaze and apply even pressure.
4) On a rough tile you do not have to push too hard, just a bit of scoring is enough.
5) If you need to cut a narrow strip of 1in you need to score deeper.
6) Snap the tile by applying pressure at once and not by increasing pressure.
7) Buy a rubbing stone if you need to smooth edges.

Summarizing, do yourself a favor, go to a box store, buy yourself about $10 worth of clearance tiles of different types and practice on them.
Learning to use this tool is the key to success.

I used this tile scorer to do the backsplash of our kitchen. We used glass and porcelain mosaic tile (small 1x4"). This tool was awesome, the scores were perfect and it snapped the tiles without creating an shards or splintering.
I would buy this product again!
very sturdy and well made

A friend recommended a wet saw instead of these cutters. He was amazed at my results.

I had a small bathroom floor project with 4x4 tiles. Only one tile did not split exactly on the line, out of a dozen cuts. Otherwise it was very easy. One line, you press and you are done. You do not even need three as others are recommending.

This cutter is for much larger tiles. But since I have another honey-do tiling for later, I bought this larger model.

I could imagine that your results depend on the tiles themselves. Mine were very easy to split.
