Great little keyboard!
5 out of 5 stars
Great little keyboard!
I usually reserve a 5-star review for something that exceeds my expectations, and at this price point the QQ-Tech keyboard fits the bill.I wanted a small "remote control" sized keyboard/touchpad for my HTPC setup. I also have a Gyration remote (best pointing device around for an HTPC, IMO) and a laptop-sized Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard. But it's cumbersome to use two interface devices while relaxing on the couch, hence the QQ keyboard. As soon as I got it out of the box, I was surprised by the quality. While it's very light, it doesn't feel particularly cheap. There's almost no flex in the case, no creaking or squeaking from badly fit parts, and it seems pretty solid overall. The buttons are a bit firm, but I see that as an advantage: If the keyboard gets lost between some couch cushions or you pick it up quickly, there's very little chance of accidental key presses. The only downside that I found right off the bat was the ergonomic design -- or rather lack thereof. Obviously this thing is quite small, so it's nearly impossible to achieve great ergonomics. So don't plan on typing your dissertation or even lengthy emails on it. Mainly this is due to the excessive reach of your right thumb over the touchpad to the middle of the keyboard. It's quite a stretch. Again, it's unavoidable due to the device's size, so I don't hold that against it. But it's something you should consider depending upon your use-case. It's absolutely fine for a YouTube or Amazon Instant Video search. The other awkward part is the layout of the two top "mouse" buttons. In the product photos they're the orange buttons on the top angled edges of the case (though on my device they're black). The trouble is that if you hold this thing like a game controller, the buttons are directly under the middle of your fingers. If they'd put them on the top edge (instead of on those angled parts) it would be much more usable. But aside from those couple of ergonomic gripes, this keyboard is great!Pairing it with my Windows 7 machine was easy and required no third-party drivers. All I had to do was hit the Bluetooth button on the keyboard and click "Add a Device" in Windows. Then it was just a matter of entering the BT PIN code and letting Windows install its standard HID drivers. The touchpad is reasonably responsive, though not on par with a good-quality laptop. The touch area is small, so (depending upon the sensitivity set in the OS of course) it takes a couple of swipes to move across the screen (any more sensitive and it's too inaccurate). And the touch area is square, so it doesn't match the 16:9 display area. However, neither of these things is a problem for me. The device is supposed to be small. The keyboard is pretty well laid out. Again, not for lengthy typing sessions, but it's intuitive enough. It has just about every button you'd need for a Windows computer, including a "control+alt+delete" secondary function for the enter key. I thought that was a nice touch. One oddity is that it appears that you can't type "alt+F4". The "F4" key is a secondary function of the "4" key, and it seems like the "Fn" button disables the Alt button. A minor niggle, but a bit weird. The backlight is more than adequate in a dark room, though pretty much invisible when the room is well-lit.It has a hard on/off switch, but does go into standby after about 15 minutes of inactivity. It wakes up smoothly, though. The specs say that the battery will last 30 days in standby, so I'm ato get a couple of weeks of intermittent use out of it. When the BT connection is active (i.e. it's on and not in standby) the blue LED for the connection stays solid on. It's not overly bright, so I look at that as a plus -- it makes they keyboard really easy to find when the lights are out.It charges quickly, though I didn't time it exactly, and has LEDs to indicate charge status and low battery. The bottom line is that I got this for 25 bucks, and now (a few days later) it's being listed at 20. However, I don't feel ripped off. It's a good value at any decent price (sub-35, I'd say), because it's a well designed little keyboard.

9/4/18 - Seenda Mini Bluetooth Keyboard w/Touchpad (purchased 7/13/17)

A little more than a year ago I bought both, a Rii Keyboard/Touchpad and this Seenda Keyboard/Touchpad to use with my NVidia Shield TV. (I strongly dislike all of the hopping from letter to letter to enter text on Android TV OS/NVidia Shield TV.) I actually preferred the Rii over the Seenda because of its rubbery-coated housing--it felt more secure in the hand. I didn't return the Seenda because it worked perfectly well, and to be honest, I've had a bit of a love/hate relationship with my Shield TV device and I had planned to purchase a different TV box for another room in the house for which I had planned to use the Seenda Keyboard/Touchpad. Well, the TV in the other room died and I haven't replaced it yet. But, in the past year, my NVidia remote failed (I used it most of the time and used the Rii only when I needed to enter text.) and I couldn't find my Rii. Since I had paired the Seenda to my NVidia box when I first bought & tested it, and never unpaired it, it saved me the frustration of dropping everything to hunt for the Rii keyboard. Now 14 months after my purchase, the Rii has died. Once again the Seenda was there for the rescue. Originally, I had considered returning the Seenda, but I'm so glad I had kept it.

Overall, I find the Seenda Keyboard/Touchpad quite nice. It's durable (I accidentally dropped it from about waist-high, onto a carpeted floor, without any damage.) and I like the unique parallelogram-shaped keys. Another thing: after being stored in its box for 14 months (with the exception of the day I took it out when I couldn't find my Rii), it retained its initial charge, from the first day I bought it, charged it, and tested it.

One consumer mentioned it not having backlight. Mine has a backlight. It is turned on by pressing the 2nd button from the left, on the top row.

2/3/20 Update - It's been nearly 1 1/2 yrs since I put my Seenda Keyboard into full-time use (I retired the NVidia remote because I got tired of the slider volume control. You can touch it the wrong way and the volume turns all the way up! It's scared the crap out of me several times!) With the Seenda, I simply use the volume up & down buttons on the top row--no more accidents. With full-time use, the Seenda seems hold a charge longer than the Rii. It's been a while, but I think I had to recharge the Rii about once a week; the Seenda, about once every 2 weeks. The battery is clearly better than the Rii--possibly larger or better quality, which would explain why it holds a charge longer with routine use, and how it held a charge for 14 months. All I can say is, the Seenda is well made and it has been extremely reliable. I must admit, over the last 6 months, both of the orange, rubbery pads at the bottom came off. They are strictly cosmetic and merely give the keyboard a little color, so it wasn't necessary, but I re-attached them with double sided tape. There's not much more to say, the Seenda just works. I recently purchased another Rii, but after testing it, I put it back in its box. It will be the backup for my Seenda. I really liked the Rii, but the Seenda seems to be a bit better in quality. There aren't many choices in Bluetooth keyboards, however, if you need one, the Seenda Keyboard/Trackpad is a very good choice.

I do not receive any compensation for my reviews. All of my comments are strictly my own, based on my actual use. If you find any of my comments beneficial, could you please click on the "Helpful" button below? I've been trying to write more reviews to help others as others have helped me. This product is amazing for the price. You use this keyboard just like a laptop or desktop keyboard.

Looks :
-Consider this as a universal keyboard. Build quality is solid and doesn't look cheap. Absolutely weightless..
-The buttons click and you can hear it when you press them. Doesn't look like a keyboard that will fall off due to W&T
-There are joystick type buttons for the mouse click you can operate using your index finger.. Extremely convenient.
-Keys back light works really well. Well lit and easy to turn on and off.

Hardware :
-Bluetooth works like a champ. Just a long press and connects really quick.
-Track pad works well and not difficult to use.
- Bluetooth range is really good and doesn't affect the battery life.
- Keyboard automatically turns off if not used for over 5 minutes
- No lag when typing even from a longer distance

Pros :
- Battery lasts longer than i excepted.
- Has multimedia controls and a search key.
- Easy to use (multiple) mouse buttons - Joystick type and regular mouse left & right button.
- Has scroll keys and works well
- Has all the functions and keys you find on a regualar keyboard.
-- Above all the pros.. the best is it works with whatever you connect with.
- Laptop
- Samsung smart TV
- Samsung note 10.1
- Samsung galaxy s4 (also tested with HTC sensation 4g & HTC desire)
- Works with android TV (additional drivers not required)

Cons :
Can't connect to multiple bluetooth devices at the same time.
Doesn't have a microphone on the keyboard if you are trying to use voice commands or use for video / voice chats.
Power on /off switch might break on longer use.

Features missing in the Cons are ok for the price we pay for this product.
If you need these extra features, sony's google tv remote will work well but twice or thrice the price of this keyboard.

A solid buy and definitely recommended to anyone(from devs to seniors).
