Well, it’s like fleece, but better. It has a higher pile and longer fibers, making it softer, sturdier, and overall an objectively higher quality fabric. And at 380 Grams Per Sqaure Meter, Qbedding provides lushest, thickest Microplush Blankets on the market. The GSM is the greatest indicator for the quality of fabric and linens, and most blanket products stand only at around 250 GSM.
Also, unlike products that use inferior dyes – an important component that affects the quality and longevity of the product - ours is sourced from Germany and applied during the production in China, which makes it naturally anti-static and highly resistant to shedding. You do NOT need to wash this before for fear that the static will pick up any unwanted animal furs or debris. Overall, it's a year-round, quality blanket that you can rely on for years to come.
GSM is a standard unit of measurement for linens and textile, and is the greatest indicator of absolute value for blankets and related products.
Take a look around other listings and you'll quickly see that the standard product lies at around 250 GSM. Ours stands firmly at 380 GSM, offering you a sturdy, objectively high quality product.
For that reason there’s no need to wash the product before you wrap it around yourself and your pet companion!
This is what the difference in GSM looks like up close.
Finer, longer strands packed together in higher density adds up to a significantly softer texture.
A SHEDDING blanket is not only unhygenic and messy but becomes less durable over time, as it can lose a good about of its fabric.
With proper care (cold wash and tumble dry) Qbedding blankets will show singnificantly less amount of shedding than standard products, which allows it a long lifespan.
The easiest way to see if a product is low quality? Just fold it and look closely at the fabric. Low value products will have visible "bald" areas bewteen rows of strands.
Qbedding Blankets are DENSE with strands, and therefore has superior texture and durability.

These blankets are super soft. More velour like than the 'flannel' description that is listed on their tag. The weight is light but they are warm. I imagine I'll need to add a throw on my side of the bed as it gets colder, but it's fine for now. I bought a King size for our queen bed and it's the perfect size. I would definitely recommend sizing up- unless you want it to barely cover the top mattress.
3 month update: for the love of god, don't order the chocolate brown. 10 times washed and hours of dryer time later, these little fuzzy demon balls are still floating around the cabin. They're on the sheets. They stick to our socks. To our walls. I truly have NO idea how the blanket doesn't have gaping holes in it- the shedding is out of control.
