The 3M VHB adhesive will adhere to smooth, non textured, non-porous surfaces such as plastic and metal. It will NOT adhere to rubber, silicon, TPU or soft touch coatings. Please ensure the application surface is thoroughly cleaned with alcohol wipe and dry before applying the adapter. The 3M VHB adhesive is a single use adhesive. It is NOT re-usable.
Please refer to Table at bottom of page for Known Product Suitability
Not all phones or cases are compatible with the 3M VHB tape. The table below should be used as a reference guide only. Please ensure a sufficient bond has been achieved by the 3M tape before use. We recommend using a 3rd party case where phone will not bond directly to the 3M adhesive.
As a guide, cases manufactured from a hard plastic such as Polycarbonate or ABS with a smooth, non textured surface work well. If the case is overmolded or manufactured from two materials, make sure the rear of the case where you plan to stick the adaptor is made from a hard material.
Rubber, leather, TPU, silicon, poly-propylene or heavily textured cases do NOT bond well to the 3M VHB tape. Always clean the application surface with alcohol and let dry before adhering the adaptor.

1. Does it work with wireless charging? Oh yes, it does! You can make this your main phone case if you wanted to and not have to worry about taking it out of the case to charge.
2. Does the screen work with the rain cover? Yes, it does... but you need to press the screen more than normal. The plastic cover has these small bumps on it to keep it off the screen so you need to press harder to make good contact. It could be due to the screen protector that I have on the phone that makes it that way but, either way, it is responsive enough to work.
3. Does it work with FaceID? Yes, it does! Now, it may be tough to get the phone to "see" your face while riding the bike but oh well.
Overall, it may not be cheap but you can bet the phone will not fall off the bike at all.
***Just one major warning: do not leave your phone on the handle bars facing up too long if the sun is out! I got carried away riding my bike in sunny Florida 2 days straight and ended up damaging the screen on my Iphone X due to sun overexposure. I had to take my phone to have the screen replaced.

The mounting block is a bit tricky to get in position, but once in place it is firmly fixed by very strong rubber bands and cable ties. Phone now easily locks in place with a 45° twist. To unlock, pull down the locking sleeve on the mounting block, and twist the phone back through 45°.
With the adhesive problem resolved, this is a great piece of kit. However, having to faff about with superglue costs it a star.
The system itself is fab - relatively slim case, super easy to clip on and off (I have tried many and this is by far the easiest) and very secure feeling connection. The rain poncho is fine and I can use face ID and the touch screen with it on.
The phone is held securely, in a good position for checking maps or stats, and face ID worked fine even with my helmet on.
I highly recommend!
Then it all went wrong. When trying to release my phone from the mechanism, I over rotated it slightly and gently wiggled and the sticky universal patch came right off my phone.
The idea is great, but I don't think I will be quick to shell out £10-15 for a new universal adapter any time soon. Maybe when I upgrade my phone, I will get one which has a compatible case instead.
Mount is flawless 2 months in. No wobble/wiggle, etc in any plane. I did cable tie down the mount so that may have helped.
£30 is still way too expensive for what is essentially a few pieces of prefab plastic - its value to me so far is around the £10-20 mark.
At the price you might expect the case itself to fit the phone absolutely perfectly, unfortunately it doesn't quite fit perfectly which means some chargers don't quite fit with the case on. This could be down to the variance in sizes between the iPhone 5 sub-models (I have a 5c) so I am willing to overlook this minor negative.
At ~£50 it is maybe an expensive buy, but if you use your bike a lot, or you need multiple phone holders e.g. in your car, on your bike, on your body and like to switch between them frequently then it is probably worth it; don't forget it costs around £50 to replace a broken iPhone screen and id be very surprised if you managed to break your screen through this case- I am wishing I had bought this the first time I viewed it now.
The case is a good fit and doesn't add too much bulk should you want to keep it in the case and use it every day (I upgraded to a new phone so I use my old iPhone 5 purely as my bike computer now so it lives in the case all the time).
The water proof cover works fine. Again a nice tight fit. I haven't been out in the rain yet but I have been out when its wet and consequently come home covered in splash marks and mud but my phone has held up fine!
One thing to note (as previously mentioned I think) is that if you use gloves with capacitive tips when operating your phone they won't work with the waterproof cover on. But your fingers will work fine!
I was descending a steep hill I wasnt too familiar with, in heavy rain and hit a pot hole. The quad lock and case remained firmly in place, but the phone jumped out of the plastic case to which I had adhered the universal mount and skidded 20m down the road. Completely smashed to bits.
My advice... buy the more expensive quad lock specifically designed for your phone.
The poncho does offer protection against light showers, flying mud etc. don't recomend using in heavy rain, or mist as the water does seep in around the sides. Also the camera is exposed (although didn't notice water getting in that way as its a tight fit but I suppose a flying stone may score a direct hit). As my ride is roads and cycle tracks the phone has held tight. I've not tried it on heavy trails. Also wonder if a iPhone 6 version is coming?
The package consist of a decent case (although quite slippery, with little grip, i can see me dropping it), four rubber rings, two grip ties, and the mount. The mount if made up of 3 plastic parts, in total no bigger than 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches. 1 spring and 1 screw.
I am happy with my purchase, in the sense that it does what i want it to do, and i won't need to look anymore. Whether this is good value for money... very debatable. 4 stars, purely on the cost.
