The Ultra Rest HDX is our top of the line model. With its sleek design and extra versatility with the latest bows you will not be disappointed. The HDX holds all the features of the HD model. If you are the archer that demands nothing but the top of the line with al the bells and whistles, this is the model for you. Sleek curved capture bar for more versatility. Features Advanced Vibration Technology, Lock Down Technology and Velocity Drop Away Technology. The mounting block design is more compatible than ever before. The advanced vibration system forces peak vibration amplitude to a minimum while durable molded rubber creates a quiet comfortable field. You can quickly adjust the timing cord to the proper length even after it is clamped to the buss cable. The full draw indicator marks insure proper launcher position at full draw.

QAD makes different trims of this rest and this is the bigdaddy of them all. The most appreciated features of it for me are the graduated side-to-side and vertical adjustment which their lower end models do not have. This makes it easier to set up your center shot and rest height (a blessing if your worried about having your arrow shaft go through the berger hole). I also like the shape of the body which allows you to secure the front of the body against your riser so its oriented perfectly vertical (another feature the lower end model does not have).
Inside the box you will find
1.instructions both paper and dvd type
2.a complimentary sog knife (a neat surprise for me)
3.a spacer and longer screw if you need more standoff gap for your windage
4.the arrow rest
5.mounting hardware & cable clamp
8.an extra arrow rest fork with shallower groove
Tools you will need not included
2.Ruler or calipers for setting up centershot (or you can eye it by lining up the middle of your grip and nocked arrow to the bow string)
Easy set up
1. fasten the rest to your riser
2. adjust the rest height
3. adjust for center shot
4. clamp timing cord to buss cable approximately 3" below the rest (make sure its the buss cable that moves downward when you draw your bow)
5. draw your bow and make sure the lines on the thumb lever wheel and arrow rest body line up during the last 1-2 inches of your draw. I would suggest
having the timing cord on the loose end to start and work your way taking off slack til this happens. If the timing cord is too tight or not enough slack it could affect the performance of your bow.
6. tighten clamp
*7. if you change draw length on your bow you may have to do steps 5 and 6 again to re-time your rest.
I have the lower end QAD hunter model on my fiances bow which works well but the containment bar on it isn't as good and can cause problems with the bolt that is used to tension the arrow rest body in place. Like most people I see with that rest I just took the containment bar off. The hunter model is a bit harder to set up as you adjust height by tipping the rest up and down and rotating the arrow rest mechanism in its hole. The HDX is noticeably quieter than the non dampened models but only if you have it high enough to not slap the arrow shelf on the riser. As a mechanical engineer I find this product is a good value and of good construction. It's well made and easy to set up which is a blessing for some who is very meticulous.
Was quick to set up and had all the parts included that you need for full install unless you want to tie it into the BUS cable.
Mine even came with a small S.O.G. knife with Q.A.D logo on it that I used to cut the excess line.
Took a quick adjustment and I was on my way. Grouping better and quieter then ever.
BE AWARE the fist one I ordered was listed with 2 day shipping and took 7 days to tell me it was delayed.
I canceled and ordered one Friday and got it Sunday morning.
My friends were all shooting QAD LX rests. I could not see a justification for going to the HD rest from the LD. When the HDX came out I noticed that it has more vertical clearance. Several friends have noticed blazer vanes catching on the top of the LD and HD rests (lipstick test). I decided to go with the HDX since the price on amazon was so low, I have had no issues with my vanes catching on the rest. If you have shot a QAD rest in the past and had issues with arrow clearance I would highly recommend you give the HDX a try.
One point to note is that you may need to twist your nock to get proper arrow alignment. I ended up shooting my arrows so that the gap between vanes is facing the bow, while vertical clearance is not an issue you may have trouble with the vane closest to your bow catching.
