1. Comb your hair downward before using the Neck Hair Guide. 2. Place the template on the back of the neck with the band over the ears and the forehead as shown, so: a. The side of the template with the bumps is facing out (the smooth side faces your hair). b. The longer side of the template is down along the desired straight neck hair line. c. If needed, adjust the headband as shown in the picture. 3. Using a mirror, be sure the template is symmetrical and straight (horizontal).

I Bought this to go with my mangroomer haircut kit! And I see a bunch of 1 star reviews and I would not pay attention to them. Who knows it is an inexpensive item and the sellers of the ones that cost double and triple might buy it and one star it! No matter what I did I could not get a straight line in the back even with 2 mirrors ( looking in a backwards mirror made it impossible to use the clipper) I put on the device and used the mirror to confirm where I wanted the line and used my clipper and razor and had an absolutely fantastic line. Doing my own haircut with no spouse or girlfriend is challenging to say the least! The quality is good and not cheap as others have said and works with no discomfort as the reviews of the more expensive one says occurs! I even saw someone say use an index card and rubber bands. Sure you can do that and have it rip after 3 uses. And yes you can probably make one yourself similar to it. My question is why go through all that to save 8 dollars! This feels like it will last years!

Listen the product works as advertised. It was easy to use, adjustable and stayed on your head (I did have to hold the product down to ensure tightness against the head).

It really does work well when you're cutting your hair. The only problem is the price but I knew that in advance. Credit to the creator of this product for generating passive income at a fraction of the cost. My advice to other users is if you want to save yourself a little money, find an elastic band that works with your head and cut out an elastic piece with two slits for the band to come through. Voila - you have your piece.

Otherwise, if you're looking for a quick, effective solutions - this is it for you!

I was tire of hearing "when are you getting your hair cut". Look all I need was a neck trim. Yeah there are places for 5 bucks will clean up you neck line. But hey I once was a licensed cosmetologist (in 1967). I try masking tape almost worked. I try holding a comb in place and cutting up to it. Again not so good. Then I found Quality Time Neck Hair Guide. Hey this looks like it would work. It does, first I used my nose hair trimmer with the straight edge trimmer figuring it could cause the least amount of damage. It worked good. With on hand to hold the guide in place it did just and expected . A nice clean neckline with no taper just what I wanted. Now after using it many times I challenged myself and use my electric hair edger. Wow I felt like a blue blade commercial. Look Sharp * Feel Sharp * Be Sharp but I'm sure not many know what it old guy it blabbering about.

Anyway just get one and try it. Remember it's not the money to get it done. It's the Pride of Doing It Yourself.

If you use clippers to cut your own hair, you’re probably as frustrated as I am that you need three hands and to be in a house of mirrors to try to see the back of your head and neckline. Lacking an extra hand and being about 28 mirrors short, I tried this contraption. I’m still in the market for an extra hand and 28 mirrors.

This is flimsy, doesn’t stay put, you can’t tell if it’s straight, and it gets caught in the clippers. So I tried to feel with my hand where it was while clipping and shaved my fingers and carved a gap in my neckline.

There must be a solution to this problem, but this isn’t it.

Works great! I received the Quality Time Neck Hair Guide and cut my own hair the next day with it. Was able to make a straight an even cut all by myself. The back of my head looks even straighter than it normally does when someone else cuts it. I usually just use clippers with guards to fade the sides and back, and leave about an inch of hair on top. All of this was was the easy part. The back of the head, however, was consuming about 90% of my time trying make a straight cut while looking in a reversed mirror. Talk about disorienting and a real struggle to not have everything look ridiculous back there. Now I just put the hair guide on, adjust it till it's straight, and then swipe all the stray hairs on the back of my neck away in a few quick passes; easy peasy!

I don't even drink or smoke pot, so have no idea whatsoever what made me decide to waste money on this piece of crap. It is a totally worthless piece of thin plastic which serves very little to no purpose at all (I could do better just blindly running the razor on my neck actually). As one of the reviewers said below, it might work for people with thin necks but then everyone's is different and so you'd have to keep moving this around which totally defeats the purpose. I was under the impression that this was flexi-plastic to cater to varying neck sizes, but no! This is a clumsy, useless design totally not worth $7 I paid for. And besides, I can't even return this now (it's not eligible for return). NOT Recommended, so stay away.

I've been cutting my own hair for over 30 years. The only difficulty...if you wanna call it that...has been lining my neck. Quite naturally, when I saw this product I immediately purchased it. Kind of a no-brainer actually. Made me wonder why I hadn't thought of it myself. And it works quite well, though I found it necessary to modify it a bit.

The strap for this neck guide is inadequate. It easily slips off and doesn't tighten enough to keep the guide from moving. The enclosed instructions pictures a man holding the guide with one hand and a razor in the other. You wouldn't need to hold it if the strap worked as intended. But it does solve the problem of the guide slipping. That is, if you don't mind shaving blind. I like to see what I'm doing so this option doesn't work for me.

So the first thing I did was staple the strap at the ends so it wouldn't come off. Then it occurred to me that wearing a sticking cap over the guide, leaving the edge exposed, might hold the guide firmly in place.

I was right. These two minor modifications allow me to position the guide, leaving one hand free to hold a mirror (to see what I'm doing) and the other hand free for my electric shaver. So now I'm able to quickly and easily line my neck with minimal effort.
