If you had to stop and think about that first sentence, the book may be slow going but will be well worth it. If you have already read widely in this general area, you'll eat it up! There's a bit of high math in a couple of the papers, but you can skip over it and you'll only miss the math.
I wish the book had come with a working table of contents! This is my only real complaint; you have to use your search function to jump and compare articles as you read.
What I like most is the wide range of ideas presented, some incompatible with each other, but all with something important to say (even if it turns out to be wrong.) Along with the ideas comes a huge amount of both hard and soft evidence from many different fields. You get access to some of the best minds working from the human side (rather than the astronomical side) of the field of cosmology.
Regardless of your own background bias (and I assure you that I have a strong one!) this book allows you to struggle with the same issues now weighing on some of our most fertile minds, and to come away feeling as though you share some small part in the ongoing investigation.
Most of the authors are leading researchers in the field. I especially liked the following articles:
"Quantum Reality and Mind" by Henry P. Stapp and
"A Quantum Physical Effect of Consciousness" by Shan Gao.
I also highly recommend the book "Mindful Universe" by Henry P. Stapp.
But it would be unfair to single out any particular one, since most of these articles are outstanding. These two are just some of the most intriguing articles in the book.
You will not be the same after reading this book. It will change how you see yourself, how you think about others and will challenge you with some of the most fundamental issues in Science.
We have learned a lot about Nature, but only now we are truly learning more about Her biggest mystery. And this book is a great contribution.
