Review

Mopar Collector's Guide, February 2006

"The impressive thing about Larry Davis's new book is the incredible amount of color photography it contains. Even better, the text accompanying the photos is well written, emotionally researched, and laid out in an easy to read format."

Larry Davis has another great book out as a follow up to Super Stock - Drag Racing the Family Sedan. This one mainly covers the factory built stockers and cars that made places like Woodward Avenue famous. Good clean photos (wish they could have been bigger though) of a lot of stockers. The focus is on the Midwest/Ohio are where Davis grew up. Great book, highly recommended!

Our friend Larry Davis is an acknowled author in both the automotive and jet aircraft fields
He has many books under his belt and surely doesn't need my recommendation
I paid extra for this out of print book which makes the third in my automotive collection
As with all is work it is very thorough and he had the foresight and the eye to capture drag cars in the Midwest hot bed
I would recommend any of Larry's books and I'm currently try to get another for my collection. Besides Larry and I love Chevy IIs

Great companion to Super Stock. I actually got this one first. If you like musclecars or vintage stock and super stock racing, right to the birth of pro-stock, this is a great book. It covers from the early days all the way to pro-stock, with info about what Detroit was doing as well as the racers. Alot of photos of the not-as-popular cars and drivers as well as some neat match-racers and of course the big-name racers.
