Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Coburn picks up where she left off in Tales from the Crib (2006). Lucy and her husband Jack, have made their dream of running an artists' colony come true. But not long after the first group of artists arrives, things start to go wrong. There's a rash of mysterious injuries on the grounds, and none of the artists are producing any new work. While Lucy's trying to figure out whether the problems are coincidental or the house is haunted, she's also tending to her high-maintenance New Age mother, Anjoli. This is a quirky novel. Despite all the naked weddings, dog acupuncture sessions, and spiritual "space-clearing" sessions, scenes do ring true, especially those of Lucy bonding with her new neighbors and rejuvenating her relationship with Jack. Coburn's fans will find this a pleasing complement to her other books, but even readers new to Coburn will be taken with this odd and interesting story. Aleksandra Kostovski
