About the Author
Thomas Pavitte, born in New Zealand, is a graphic designer and experimental artist who often uses simple techniques to create highly complex pieces, and whose dot-to-dot pieces have been enjoyed by people all over the world. He set an unofficial record for the most complex dot-to-dot drawing in 2011 with his version of the Mona Lisa, in 6,239 numbered dots, which took him weeks to prepare and nine hours to complete. He lives and works in Melbourne, Australia.

At first I was a bit skeptical as the numbers are a little small. In fact, I would say that the size of the numbers is the weakest part of this product. This is however necessary to add detail and depth. I wouldn't recommend this for someone who has trouble with very small print. My sister thought all the bubbles were a bit dizzying. So again, not for everyone.
For me, the size of the numbers was not a problem. I've been having a wonderful time coloring these in. Some are obvious what they are, others are more of a mystery. I enjoy it.
Fun, addictive, and meditative. Please, please make more!
Contained in this book are a collection of Mr. Pavitte's extremely realistic reproductions of some of the world's most famous and admired paintings. These astonishingly accurate re-creations of those Masterpieces were formed by his artistic and accurate placement of thousands of circles. I believe that, after you complete any one of the querkle puzzles in this book, you will agree that the resulting image should be considered a Masterpiece in its own right.
The first thing you will notice when you receive this book is its size. It is much larger than the other puzzle and coloring books we typically purchase. However, due to the intricate detail of the Querkles, they must be printed on a larger-than-usual page. If they were squeezed onto a smaller page, the details would be too small to see and, therefore, too small to color -- even using a magnifying glass.
Due to its size, you may not be able to comfortably hold this book on your lap while using it. Instead, I found that pulling a small table close to me while sitting on the sofa or in my favorite chair proved to be a good way for me to use this book. I also sat at my kitchen table, particularly during those times when I was cooking something that required me to stay close by. I'm fairly certain that working on my querkles at the kitchen table has saved me from burning or otherwise ruining a lot of food. Lol
