I'm a single guy, mid 30's, never married and no kids. All the other guys in our group of 5 were divorced w/o kids and older than me by 10-20yrs. We all grew disinterested in the Manhood Plan because of lack of follow through on the leadership and not helping develop our plans like was previously mentioned.
For me personally I didn't know what to put on my plan. In addition to being single and no kids it's also been quite awhile since I had a relationship. I also have no debt and over the years of small stupid mistakes I've learned a lot about finances from trial and error.
Trying to think ahead to develop a plan for my life I didn't know what to put. I can't presume God will bring a relationship into my life, finances are good, relationships with my parents are good so no healing or "work" needed there.
I've worked in mental health and construction, I'm a very easy going guy but direct and able to get along positively even with difficult people. Because the leaders were apathetic and poor on follow through and I'm a mature man comfortable with emotions and not afraid to talk about difficult/awkward things I wasn't sure how to approach the Manhood Plan.
The pastor had also mentioned something about a special last session. It wasn't anything special or ceremonious the pastor wasn't even there, but the other leaders were. I had considered attending the church and get to know some of the guys better. With a pastor like that I'll stick with my "home church" that has a pastor that knows about follow through and not saying hollow words.
If you go through this great study don't be weak, apathetic, or wimpy. Make sure you FINISH STRONG!
As a side note, this book should be mandatory for every man regardless of religious background! You want to know what a real man is check out this series! Your future family generations will thank you for it!
There is a lot of in depth analysis that really helps relationships and is a huge advantage for your spouse and kids. I would love to see a course like this for teenagers.
