Normally I save reviews strictly for the product itself, but I wanted to make other buyers aware of the fact that there is an error in this listing. Amazon is selling the 'Pro Basic' version for around $130 when you select the 'Institutional' color. The picture attached to the 'institutional' color is in fact of the Pro version, which has a gray base.

I wanted to get the Pro version with the gray base because that is the same one I use in the gym with my personal trainer. The underside of the base Pro version is made to be stood on for balance training when flipped over, which is also great for strength training with weights. When I received my Bosu ball from Amazon, the box had a BASIC stamp on it which seemed normal because Amazon has the product title as "Bosu Pro Basic". When I opened the box, I immediately saw the Bosu ball inside had a black base. Once I took it out and flipped it over, I saw the underside platform had small, rubberized feet on the underside. (The Pro version does not) Stamped on the underside was this message "PLATFORM NOT SUITABLE FOR STANDING - DO NOT STAND ON PLATFORM" So this was clearly the wrong Bosu. I had received the HOME Basic version. I emailed Amazon, and they overnighted a replacement Bosu to me (Best customer service in retail, no joke) and when I got the box, boom, on the outside was stamped once again: BASIC. So I knew even before opening that it was again the Home Basic version, not the Pro. Opened the box and again saw a black base inside.
If you go to Bosu's website, they list the Pro version as having a gray base, no other colors are listed as being Pro.

I've emailed Amazon and let them know of the error, but in the meantime I'm going to order directly from Fitness Quest to make sure I get the Pro version. Buyer beware!

This is a very good product, I've been using it at my gym enough to know that I should have one at home. The product which was priced at $133.00, arrived without the "Feet" as advertised and no obvious place where feet might be attached if they had been provided. The book and DVD are both very good (included by the manufacturer, not the shipping entity). When I went back into Amazon.com to enter a complaint, I found the exact same product advertised at $122.00, so, I complained about the missing feet and about the pricing situation. The reply I received states it must be a manufacturing error (which I doubt) and does not mention the pricing discrepancy. It also fails to resolve the problem except for returning the product at my expense.
I paid a premium for the product mainly because of the feet and think they would help in getting fingers under the BOSU for lifting and turning. Returning this is a bigger hassle and expense to me, so I'm going to keep it. I do quite a bit of business with Amazon.com and have been very satisfied with both service and product., this is very much an exception. I will post an addendum to this review with the name of the supplier.

Update: The name of the poor service supplier is Fitness Warehouse FWIW.

This is NOT the Pro trainer 65 cm. The one I received was 55 cm.

Even though my trainer has come up with some abusive exercises using this Bosu, I can't blame the Bosu and I must say that it is a versatile, durable product (so far, anyway. I've had it for about 6 mos). After reading the reviews about the "home" version of this equipment, I decided to pay a little extra and get the professional one. I like it and it is just like the ones in the gym. It came with a book(let) and dvd of exercise suggestions, but I haven't used them because (as I said) I rely on my trainer, but it seems to be well made and it looks like the manufacturer spent some time putting the book together. Well done.

Excellent product offering challenging exercise options.

If I were rating the ball by itself I would give it a 5 star rating, but because I paid 20 some odd more dollars for it because of the DVD and the pump, I take it to three stars. I haven't looked at the DVD and I assume it's good enough, but a DVD that comes with equipment should be less than $10, especially for something that costs more than $100.

The pump though to me is something like you buy is a dollar store, although I might be insulting the dollar stores by saying that. If you already have a pump that has a general nozzle that can be pushed into a hole such as for an inflatable air mattress, then save the additional money and look up online some of the exercises you can do with this thing.

The pump is made of VERY flimsy plastic that took me about 5 minutes to pump up this thing with. Well, a little longer because the hose kept falling off the pump so I had to stop a few time to put it back on, until I finally just held the hose where it slides onto the pump. The hose also had a crack in it (once again REALLY flimsy and cheap plastic) so I had to tape that up. I have a nice electric pump for filling air beds and it would have filled this up in probably 20 to 30 seconds, so I feel stupid for thinking I needed to pay the extra money.

I can't give the product 5 stars since I didn't receive what was shown. I received the black bottom not the grey. And even thou the box has basic stamped on it, nowhere does it state pro. I ended up sending it back since I figured that if I'm paying for pro, then why settle for less.
