The Perfect Dry LUX System is an electronic device for the maintenance and the storage of all kinds of hearing aids. The maintenance is ensured by the combination of a forced-air fan drying system and UV-C rays for disinfection. Small, Elegant and effective

Given one of these by my new audiologist when i bought a new pair of Oticon Alta2 hearing aids from him. I was so pleased with it I bought a second one on Amazon for a second residence. The Perfectdry replaced the much larger, Store and Dry units I had been using for 8 years. The store and dry required a desiccant which had to be replaced every three months and had a fan which operated 8 hours. The perfect dry is quiet, operates 30 or 60 minutes and the wax on the domes brushes off easily in the morning. I used to place the dry and store in my office since the fan noise kept my wife up, if I put it in the bedroom. Quest Perfectdry is small, and quiet and "hides" behind my alarm radio on my nightstand so so the blue UV light is not visible. I highly recommend it.

We've used this for 6 months. All I can say is that it works Incredibly well. While this doesn't "clean" the hearing aides it really drys out the gunk so you can easily clean them with a brush. Before the Quest we we're at the audiologist every 3-4 months with a plugged microphone, so far so good. This little machine works great.

Great Little Hearing Aid Drier - Well Made.

Works just fine as advertised. The concerns I had were the size, noise and lights.

Size - Easily fits on a small nightstand next to the bed. The unit has a foot print of about the size of your palm and roughly 2-3 inches high. I find it odd that the Amazon add shows a picture with dimensions of the packaging box and not the unit itself.

Noise - for the first 10 minutes or so, you can hear a small fan whirring away in there. Not too bad for me since the HAs are in the box, luckily my wife finds the noise somewhat soothing. Go figure...

Lights - It has two Blue LED Bars along the front side under the button that are bright - you will need to face it away from you at night if you don't want to have them in your face. For the first 5 minutes or so, the whole box lights up with a soft white light that is the UV light that is internal to the box. That light causes the upper 2/3 of the box to glow. It serves as a good night light while getting ready for bed at least.

Unexpected - The lid is very flat and has a magnet to keep it closed. When closing the lid, it closes with some bit of a "clap" noise. Not loud at 4pm during the day, but at 11PM and a sleeping wife, it could be an issue.

Functionality - It has two levels or "durations" for the drying - Close the lid, touch the button once and it is something like 30 minutes, touch the button a second time, 1 hour, touch it a third time and it cancels. The Blue LED(s) stay on for the duration, the internal UV light illuminates for just the beginning of the period. They HAs get a Little warm, but not hot by any means. I leave the batteries in the HAs but with the door open to optimize the drying. The heat inside is probably just 10 degrees warmer than body temp, so I would find it hard to believe the batteries would have any issues there. I have not notice any change what-so-ever in battery life. I never had problems with moisture with the HAs so I can't say it solved any problems, I use it because it makes sense. Drier is better with electronics of any kind.

Power is a no brainer - it's just like using a phone charger.

I'm Pretty Sure it Works, but not the Model in Picture or Description

My mom has one of these so I tried it when I visited her. I promptly ordered one from Amazon when I got home. Going on faith, I'm guessing that it works. There is no measurement indicator. What I do notice is that my $6000/pair aids seem sharper and brighter after using the PerfectDry Lux. I love that it is compact, and I carried it during my travels to Vietnam and Thailand where there is high humidity. My concern is the model I received is NOT what is pictured and described on Amazon. The one I got does not have the 2 blue lights at the bottom; instead the button turns blue. It only has a 30 minute quick dry cycle, and does not have a 90 minute intensive cycle as described. I am hoping that this means I have the LATEST model, and not an obsolete one. Based on the manufacturer's website, I believe that I have the current model. I note that the price recently came down $20 on Amazon and other sites, and that might be due to the fact that the manufacturer has a newer invention called PerfectClean that will also remove earwax. That sounds promising!

This machine was easy to operate once I figured out when to push the button and when to insert the hearing aid. The directions were slightly confusing. It is nice not to have to buy a Desicant and the box does not take up much space. My batteries seem to last a little longer and they are taken out BEFORE I put the hearing aid in the box. Don't know if this has anything to do with the Perfectdry LUX.

I love this little machine. It's perfect for those who sweat while wearing hearing aids during a game of tennis or running. You just can't take your hearing aids apart in order to dry them out on a paper towel. This little box allows you to put them in with the battery compartments open and with the two cycles you choose from allows your hearing aids go through cleaning and drying cycles. Perfect!

especially on those super humid summer days in the Midwest

I used to have a container filled with silica beads and it just didn't seem to really get my hearing aids dry, especially on those super humid summer days in the Midwest. My audiologist suggested this and I bought it on my way home. It was delivered a couple of days later and I use it daily. The one thing I do, though, is remove the tubing and ear mold from my BTEs. That way I don't have to deal with the tubing or ear molds hardening or shrinking over time (faster). It's made a huge difference in my hearing aids and I would highly recommend this!
