CJ West says:
Renee seemed like she was playing Jacob for his money their entire relationship. She learns that Jacob allowed his brother to have sex with her so he could have Carlita. What was a fitting end for Renee given her agenda and Jacob's betrayal?

I think Renee was just as guilty as Jacob for her actions or lack of actions throughout the book. She needed to be held accountable for all of the things that she was guilty of. She may not have been directly responsible for Mattie's death but she certainly wasn't blameless. She knew that she was allowing Jacob to torch their house for insurance money. Also, I wonder if she wasn't motivated to push Jacob off the bridge because she was mad at him and also thought she might get another payday. It seemed like Renee was only concerned with how much money she could get and how often she could get it.
