Robert Morse and George Maharis star in Quick, Before It Melts, a cool comedy about love and defection, based on the novel by The New York Times reporter Philip Benjamin. To prove he’s worthy of his editor’s daughter (Yvonne “Batgirl” Craig), milquetoast journalist Oliver Cannon (Morse) agrees to head to the Antarctic and report from an underground naval base. Realizing a scoop will cut short his stay, Oliver decides to create his own news with the aid of photographer friend Pete Santelli (Maharis). Intending to fly in a bevy of beauties to convince a Russian scientist (Michael Constantine) to defect, Oliver must dream up a way to outwit the Navy if he’s to import the women, export the story and return home to marry his girl.

At least to me who saw this soon after original release and I must say to a great friend who presently works at McMurdo base during the Antarctic summers.
Some actual footage of the polar base may have been combined with Hollywood sets. The transport to and from Antarctica is by MATS C-54. The only other aerial shots are stock footage of the changing airliners from New York to the West Coast, then to Australia, then to Christchurch, New Zealand, and finally back again. They get around by Snow Cat, though there are Weasels in the overview.
