The Loom ... is listed in the front of the book as 54 pegs, but it is actually 46 pegs and one extra. It is a green loom of the same diameter as a green Knifty Knitter round loom, HOWEVER the gauge is smaller since the KK loom has far fewer pegs (36). The pegs themselves are still the large size.

The loom must be assembled. It comes in two halves with loose pegs; supposedly to make storage easy (also for some of the techniques). But the first time taking it back apart, I partially broke one of the tabs that holds it in a circle (the plastic is very stiff). I'll admit I was a bit heavy handed; I don't know if others will yank on it the way I did. That said, I really like this loom alot and will simply glue the circle together permanently. (It does still snap together, just not as tightly, so I'll glue it.)

The pegs I will leave as removable. They seem to stick in pretty well, and take a good pull and wiggle to remove. I will be careful not to stick them in too tightly because some of the techniques call for or would benefit by removing the pegs. It is not entirely necessary though, so glue them in if you prefer.

Because the pegs are removable, it makes it easier to increase and decrease, also for skipping pegs, making ladder stitches, cables, etc. I may worry about losing pegs, but I don't actually think it will be a problem if I take care not to wrap too tightly and just pay attention to what I am doing.

The Book ... teaches the flat knit stitch and the e-wrap stitch. It does not teach how to purl. I feel this severely limited the patterns and hinders a new loomer's progress. Again, that said, the patterns are very nice.

I bought this set because I was tempted by the fact that it had everything in one -- loom, yarn, patterns, and instructions. And I found everything satisfactory, save for the instructions. I figured that because it was an all-in-one (wouldn't an intermediate or advanced loomer already have these materials?) it was targeting the beginner. Boy, was I wrong. It starts out covering a bit of the basics, then begins to assume all sorts of prior knowledge of loom knitting. If you're like me and know absolutely NOTHING about loom knitting, don't start out here! Or, if you purchase it for the materials and patterns (which are very nice, by the way), make sure you buy another (primer level) book in addition.

These looms are fun and EASY! Anyone can learn the basics and have great results in a very short time. By short, I mean an hour or less. Due to R/A, I have limited use of my hands and find that this is of no consequence with these looms. I would recommend them to anyone, young or old, looking for a fun craft.

The loom was fairly easy to aasemble and the instruction booklet is informative. Many fun and creative ideas can be found in the booklet. I liked it!

First you have to insert the pegs and some of them stay loose, to fit this I use a dab of Elmers glue. I do like the spacing of the pegs, they are closer than the Knifty Knitter round looms. The one problem I found was the patterns: some of them have errors, if your a beginner this may cause confusion, but if you have been loom knitting as long as I have you can make adjustments.
