ABSOLUTELY NO COOKING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
Driven by her desire for cooking for others (and herself), Hannie P. Scott spends a lot of time in the kitchen! Hannie enjoys sharing her love of food with the world by creating "no-nonsense" recipe books that anyone can use.
Hannie attended the University of Southern Mississippi and received a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nutrition & Food Systems. She enjoys cooking and experimenting with food. She hopes to inspire readers to learn how to prepare delicious meals with simple to follow instructions and easy-to-acquire ingredients.
Living in the south and in an era where convenience is a commodity, unhealthy fast-food diets have caused health problems across the world. Hannie is inspired to motivate readers to start cooking and eating from home. This saves time, money, and health!
Hannie's vision is to write a series of recipe books, each focusing on one theme or one type of food that could can be EASILY prepared by someone who wouldn't be considered your typical cook. She urges her readers to feel welcome to share recipes, thoughts, and ideas with her and any feedback is encouraged.

Hello! My is Hannah Abedikichi (formerly Hannie P. Scott) and I adore food. I began creating recipe books and food blogging in 2014 as a hobby. I never ever dreamed it would turn into this.
The only thing I love more than food is PEOPLE. I am a mother to two beautiful babies and a wife to an amazing man, so I’ve got plenty of mouths to feed at home. In fact, cooking for my family is one of my greatest sources of joy. I enjoy meals that are simple, healthy, and delicious, and I’ve found that creating wholesome recipes helps me grow as a wife and mother.
Though I mentioned I’m a fan of healthy cooking, I’ll admit that there is a time and place for everything – and often, the time and place for cake is here and now. It’s all about achieving a sense of balance. Ultimately, my goal is to share simple, delicious recipes for REAL PEOPLE.
Why do I do this?
I love food and I love sharing food things with people. Whether it be actually making food to share with my family and friends or sharing recipes and tips with people…..sharing food brings me so much joy.
What is Abedikitchen?
A blog where I share real life things. It will not be perfect. It will sometimes messy. But it will be a breath of fresh and a place to find simple & delicious recipes for real people. My mission is to simplify and uplift, one recipe at a time.
My thoughts…..
I want my blog, recipe books, and overall presence (social media and real life) to be authentic, fun, and uplifting. I want to share recipes and other content that is simple and real life. I want to show the good side of things but also show the messy side. I don’t want to have a perfect Instagram feed of all white background recipes.
I’ll show the beautiful blueberry pancakes but also the burnt cookies…. The perfect shots of the kids all dressed up and clean and smiling, but also the pictures of them with peanut butter all over their faces while they track mud into the house. Food is such a big part of EVERYONE’s lives and it's one of the very favorite parts of my life.
I like things to be simple. I want to help people feed their families delicious BUT super simple recipes. I like healthy recipes and eating healthy, but I love sharing the not-so-healthy things on occasion. A lot of food blogs and food blogger Instagram accounts often overwhelm me with the illusion of perfection, the complicated recipes, the almost unheard of ingredients. I want to be a place where people can come for food and recipe ideas that are familiar and simple, but delicious and fun.
I love food and cooking so much and I want to SHARE that with people all over the world.

I did receive this book at a discounted rate in return for an honest opinion and review.
The recipes are great for beginners who just need a little inspiration. Nothing is complicated and all are very comfort food-ish. While the recipes are not necessary un-healthy, I wouldn't say these recipes are for people looking for lighter healthier faire. There is a lot of meat, cheese, and bread (which is fine in moderation of course). These are very traditional & conventional recipes. The recipes utilize a lot of pre-made products you would buy at the store like prepackaged tortellini, canned rolls, string cheese, and canned tomato sauce. I would suggest this for high school/college students who are just having to cook for themselves for the first time. This sort of faire would help someone get comfortable in the kitchen before moving on to healthier and more complex meals should they decide to want that later.
It would have been nice to see photos of the recipes though. There is something about actually seeing the meal to encourage you to get excited about making it. I know print books shy away from photos because of the printing cost but I imagine ebooks shouldn't have an issue with having more pages and images in the book. I may just be missing something though, since I myself have never put together an ebook. The cover image is mouthwateringly beautiful so it's obvious someone connected with this book is a very gifted food photographer. It would be so nice to see all of the recipes presented with an photograph as well.

My husband and I are always on-the-go, but hate spending money on eating out. I love cooking and find being in the kitchen as a great de-stresser. Now, I know that this isn't the case for everyone, and most people are easily overwhelmed by cooking. That's one of the many reasons why this cookbook is so great.
EXAMPLE: The very first recipe in this book is a Cheesy Pasta Skillet. Ingredients are ground beef, tortellini, can of diced tomatoes, can of tomato sauce, water, garlic powder, onion powder, and shredded cheese. Now if you already own garlic powder and onion powder, then this meal would only cost you about $15. That comes out to only $3.75 p/ serving!
The best part is that this meal will only take you about 15-20 minutes to make. You save time by using the garlic and onion powders to replace chopping, dicing or mincing real garlic and real onions. (Plus you won't end up with smelly garlic fingers or crying from cutting onions)
The author includes side dishes and recipes for the meals which is super helpful. I am not good at coming up with side dishes on my own to pair with a meal, so it's a no-brainer to have them already included with the recipe. Not to mention that there are some GREAT snack ideas in here! (Pepperoni roll-ups is definitely on my list to try)
All of these meals are mouthwatering to flip through and seem painless to make! Affordable, healthy and balanced meals are hard to find these days when you're always in a hurry. This cookbook solves all of those problems for you with enough recipes to last for an entire month!
Such a great buy! I highly recommend.
I received this product for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
