About the Author
USA Today bestselling author Gigi Pandian is the child of cultural anthropologists from New Mexico and the southern tip of India. After being dragged around the world during her childhood, she tried to escape her fate when she left a PhD program for art school. But adventurous academic characters wouldn’t stay out of her head. Thus was born the Jaya Jones Treasure Hunt Mystery Series. The first book in the series, Artifact, was awarded a Malice Domestic Grant and named a “Best of 2012″ debut novel by Suspense Magazine. Gigi’s short fiction has been short-listed for Agatha and Macavity awards.

Quicksand is fast-paced and full of intrigue. You will be on the edge of your seat for much of the book. Gigi Pandian introduces us to several new characters in this book, from the smooth-talking art dealer, Mr. North and his shady assistants, to a delightful 90 year old magician friend of Sanjay, named Sebastien. From Paris, to Nantes to wonderful Le Mont St. Michel, Jaya has to have all her wits about her as she, Lane and Sebastien search for a missing treasure that others have shown themselves desperate to recover.
I truly enjoyed Quicksand, as I have all the books in the Jaya Jones Treasure Hunt Mysteries. It is a wonderful story that kept me engaged and was very hard to put down. I highly recommend this book, as I do the others in the series and can't wait to join Jaya on her next adventure.
I also enjoyed reading about Sebastian's creations and I am glad to hear that the elephant really exists. If I am ever in France, I will definitely go to see it.
I really hope the author continues with this series because I would love to read more. I love the strong female protagonist. She is smart, daring, adventurous, and yet still relatable.
Well written, funny. Characters are so well drawn that you can 'see' them in your head, as u read. LOVE Jaya..smart, snarky-sarcastic funny & doesn't kowtow to anyone. Please may we have more??!!
