I liked the variety of pictures, it was not limited to her mother-and-child paintings, but it also showed sisters, father and son, etc., which prevented students without mothers from feeling left out. I also liked how the board book was able to lie completely flat as I held it up, it made it very easy for the students to get a good look at each painting and also see the fun, curvy, large-font words set against colorful backgrounds.
I am very satisfied with this book and plan on buying more from this series.
This particular one features 10 beautiful paintings by Mary Cassatt depicting family life (mother / daughter, father / son, mother / baby). The gentle rhythm of the words used to describe each painting is very soothing. My 10 month old loves sitting with this, holding it, flipping the pages, and just staring at the photos. He's not usually as enthused over looking at the photos (usually he just chews our other books) - but he seems to find this one, and the one about Monet, fascinating.
For homeschoolers out there, this series would be a great introduction to picture study as well! As an adult, I even love looking at, and familiarizing myself with, the art depicted in these little books.

I brought all mini masters and my daugher loved this the most. Cassat is very maternal, so it matches her fascination for dolls.Published 4 months ago by Luis G. F. Pereira
I could tell stories about the content. But the book is small, we can see no details of the drawing.Published 7 months ago by shenlei

A very cute idea, but a little plain in person. I don't imagine my young niece is going to read it more than once because of its lackluster presentation. Read morePublished 10 months ago by JaniM
