What's The Difference
- Traditional Foam Earplugs: Dull existing sounds
- Noise Masking Earbuds: Produce constant white-noise to drown out sounds
- Active Noise Cancelling Earbuds: Produce an opposing sound that acts like a noise eraser
QuietOn employs active noise cancelling technology which uses a microphone to sample the sound and a speaker to produce an opposing sound wave that acts like a noise eraser. The result is amazing.
How They Work
QuietOn Sleep Earbuds combine the advantages of in-ear passive earplugs with active noise cancelling, providing optimal noise reduction across the whole audible spectrum especially effective at low frequencies such as snoring sounds, as well as ambient noises coming thru walls. Snoring is mostly comprised of these low frequency sounds.
Two Modes Silent/Hearing
QuietOn features two modes – hearing and silent mode - simply firmly press the mode button to change the mode to your desired noise level blocking.
20 Hours Per Charge
QuietOn earplugs are rechargeable and only take an hour to charge completely and lasts 20 hours.
Ultra-Compact & Superior Comfort
The compact in-ear design and 3 sizes of foam tips provide all-night comfort even for side sleepers.

These QuietOn in-ear noise cancellers, I wanted to love them. Really did. I want a solution for traveling, dealing with noisy hotels, maybe even use them at home.
1] In my experience, the noise cancellation was barely better than a nice fresh set of Hearos. I can easily carry on a conversation with someone. And yes, I know you must use the largest foam buds on them, which I did, and wait for the foam to expand, which I did, and yes, I know you have to press the ON button on both, which I did, and tested each side over and over. They don't do nearly enough cancellation for the price. I might be expecting too much. I am new to noise-cancelling electronic headphones, and from what I can read, they are better at cancelling long, droning, low-frequencies, like an airplane engine, or a loud A/C unit, but are not really for cancelling conversations or sharp noises. That was very disappointing, but I will let you know how they compare to a set of Bose QuietComfort 25s I plan to buy .
2] when I laid on my side, WOW, the noises they made as I rubbed my ear on my pillow were like someone squeaking their hand on a balloon. It was loud as heck, every time I adjusted my head by maybe half and inch, and--it was intolerable. No way would I sleep with that. I guess the mic on that side is picking up something that the other side mic is not hearing and actually amplifying it, which is an amazing design flaw.
3] when laying on side, also, I found they pushed further into my canal, or the plastic case was pressing on my inner plenum, and started to hurt. Again, not for me, as a side-sleeper.
The angle you put them in at and the size of your ears probably does effect side sleepers as some users have mentioned. I've had few problems so long as the electronic part goes up into a space in my ear but people with differently shaped or smaller ears might have issues side sleeping on them.
