These particular journals are thick. They will not fit inside a Bible. They will not easily fit inside a small purse. They are NOT blank pages; rather, they have set boxed in spaces to jot down verses you are studying, what you learned, spaces for prayers, gratitude entries, memories, and what you are thankful for, AS WELL AS coloring pages with verses. I particularly love the layout of this journal. It is easy to follow which makes it especially helpful for beginners to Bible study (such as myself).
I purchased these to go along with Darlene's upcoming gratitude and Exodus Bible study at timewarpwife.com, but they could have so many other uses, and would make great gifts. I highly recommend this as a tool to accompany your Bible studies, whether in groups large or small, or solo. It is a great guide to help organize your thoughts, and to help you focus on the good in each day.
To be fair, the product description says 8.5x11", and 'paperback.' So the fault is mine for assuming that something called a journal would, in fact, be more 8x5-ish and hardcover, like every other journal I've owned. But considering the fact that most of the pages are just repeats of the same layout, it feels a little like a rip-off. I'd happily have paid the $10 for a hardcover, journal-sized book even with most of the pages being the same, but for basically a coloring book ...? Not sure if I'll keep them or not. I really liked the idea, and hate to give it up, but not sure these will work for us.
~Beautiful spaces for listing prayer requests and answers as well as for writing out a prayer, for notes on personal Bible study, for listing what you're grateful for and something 'wonderful' that happened that day.
~Nicely-done coloring pages interspersed throughout the book.
~Too large to easily keep with Bible.
~Softcover makes it hard to write in unless you're sitting at a table.
~Price is a little high for what is basically duplicated pages.
In summary, if you enjoy writing, you probably won't enjoy this product. If you don't enjoy writing, this product would be perfect for you!
