Important Information

Safety Warning

Indications
For temporary external use to control bleeding. Accelerates clotting- STOPS bleeding fast. Product will feel warm in use. Contains no animal products.

Ingredients
(1) 50g QuikClot Advanced Clotting Sponge

Directions
1. Open package and remove QuikClot. 2. Place QuikClot over wound and use it to apply pressure directly over bleeding source. (more than one QuikClot may be required) 3. Continue to apply pressure until bleeding stops. 4. Leave QuikClot in place. Wrap to secure on the wound. Do not remove until medical care is available. If wound re-bleeds, apply a new QuikClot. Seek IMMEDIATE medical attention.

Literally hours after adding a pair of these to my first aid kit, one of my friends ended up impaling himself on a fence at school. He fell off of the fence, which left two gaping holes in his thigh and plenty of blood oozing out. We figured he just missed his femoral by millimeters as the flow wasn't anywhere near as bad as it could have been. Nevertheless, I take my backpack off, rip off my first aid kit from the Velcro mount, don some gloves, and get to work. With enough pressure, the sponges stopped the bleeding in mere minutes, after which I added compression bandages to keep everything in place. By the time emergency responders got to the scene, all they really had to do was a quick assessment, neuro check, and then they stuffed him into the ambulance and hauled him off. The jerk has yet to pay me back for the two packs I used on him.

Being on blood thinners is scary. One fall, one cut, one bloody nose, all are scary. I used this to control a major bleed. I fell, slammed my hand on a metal edge and a major skinned piece flesh was off and bleeding. I grabbed this and slammed the whole thing against my bleeding hand. Direct pressure and, bleeding stopped. The ER doc was impressed. No bleeding at all. They left everything in place instead of scraping it off. I may have a bigger scar but I can say this stopped bleeding within a minute.

I have one of these in every first aid kit I own. I recommend that everyone has at least one of these around. Home first aid, and vehicle first aid...
They are expensive but you get what you pay. It's absolutely worth it knowing that these things work and you won't bleed out.

A family member got to experience using one of these for the first time when he got a huge gash on his head from an accident. An off duty police officer had one of these and applied it to his head and it stopped the bleeding. It's important to have one of these when your out hunting, camping, or wherever location that would take the first responder a lot of time to get to. The average first responder time is 10 - 15 minutes. It can take about 30 minutes to bleed out and < 1 minute to apply this thing.

Note that average response times are flawed since they usually do not take into consideration the time to call and dispatch. The times are started when the wheels of the responder actually start heading it's way... Drive time.

My wife cut her foot badly. She was trying to stop the bleeding with coffee grinds, bandages etc and nothing would work. I cleaned the wound, took out the QuikClot and applied and within 45 seconds the bleeding was under control. No heat, no sting (aside from the pain of the wound). Wrapped her up and brought her to the emergency room for some stitches. It a great product to have around, I bought more.

Cut off fleshy part of my finger making Coke slaw. Direct pressure for 30 minutes and was still bleeding profusely. Son grabbed this from his vehicle first aid kit and bleeding stopped in 3 minutes.
