The next novella in the Circle is More Than a Promise - it is a Story of Trust on several levels - Newly widowed Marianne must trust the Doctors when they put her on bed rest shortly after finding out she is going to have twins. Her late husband's business associate become a friend and companion and guardian angel. Soon Reuben decides to ask her to marry him - can she trust her head or trust her heart. Can she trust that Reuben is the person for her and her twins. This is a captivating novella with a great story about Trust.
More Than a Marriage - Once again Amy Lillard has convinced me that I must visit this special place known as Wells Landing, when the series started I was planning a vacation to this new Amish destination, only to find out I must travel through the pages of this wonderful series. I am blessed to have the honor of reading this book prior to it's release. In this return to Wells Landing we walk with Tess and Jacob Smiley who have been married for three years and Tess is feeling disconnected from her husband whom she adores and that is obvious. Tess feels the need to make changes after Jacob tells her he is getting rid of her goats. This journey of the heart is a lesson in love and the 10th commandment "You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.” Tess has a jealous longing for what her friends all seem to have and her relationship with Jacob is lacking. Is their love strong enough to show Tess how much she really has? I so enjoyed this journey to Wells Landing it truly makes you step back and reflect on all the things you have in your own life and how wonderful your life truly is. Thank you Amy Lillard for sharing your talent with everyone
I really liked Obie in this story and his persistence in this story. Amy Lillard has a way of really bringing her characters to life.
In More Than a Promise Mariana is pregnant, with twins! Newly widowed and needing space to grieve she faints and needs to go on bedrest. I loved the way the community rallied around her while she was going through this difficult time.
Rueben, another great character, was so thoughtful and kind. His generous nature and kind acts tugged at my heart.
In More Than a Marriage Tess finds herself trying to compete for her husband Jacob's affection with a smartphone! She feels ignored and unhappy. Jacob is frustrated that his wife wants to keep pesky goats and he can't provide for her in the way he feels that an Amish man should. This story delves into the heart of a marriage and you find yourself wondering if Tess and Jacob can ever find common ground.
Amy Lillard gives us a glimpse into a world that isn't all buggy rides and picnics. She draws you in with characters that have beautiful real life flaws and you find yourself rooting for them. With the help of caring neighbors will Tess and Jacob find their way back to each other? Or will they hang on to their pride and keep comparing what others have to what they have?
This was a really great series and I'm so glad that they all are in one place for you to enjoy. So come home to one of my favorite places and pick up your copy today. Welcome to Wells Landing, where there is a story on every corner and a place you will enjoy visiting every time. Happy Reading.
More Than A Friendship tells the story of Clara Yutzy. She is the youngest of the quilters and planning her wedding to the perfect guy or so she thinks. Her long time pal Obie has other ideas. Will he convince Clara that they can have More Than a Friendship? This is a story of trusting ones choice even as we second guess ourselves. And just maybe the correct answer has been standing in front of us all the time.
More Than a Promise is the sad tale of Mariana MIller. She prayed for years for children to bless she and her husband with children. Recently widowed, she feared her dream would never be realized. By the grace of God she finds that she is pregnant to her late husband with twins. When complications arise, she finds herself on bed rest. Never fear the Quilting Circle vows to help and take care of her. However, it is her late husband's business partner, Reuben, who gives her the most help and friendship. Will she come to be able to love and trust again so soon after her husband's death? This story embraces the idea that sometimes we have to just trust that the Lord knows best.
Finally More than a Marriage. Tess and Jacob recently relocated to Wells Landing. Tess loves her husband but feels lonely because he spends more time with his cell phone and work then with her. She longs for the love and teamwork that she sees in her friends marriages. When Jacob decides to sell the one thing Tess finds comfort in, Tess feels like she needs to stand up and be heard. When her decision to move back to her family confuses Jacob, Tess finally asks for help. Will Jacob come to understand that he is about to lose the best thing that has ever happened to him? Or will he let Tess slip away? Sometimes in life our choices lead us on paths we may not have realized we were on.
