I now own three Quirky outlets; they all work well and really do accommodate those nasty AC "bricks". But it really comes up short where it counts the most--at the wall. Having a flat-head, right-angle plug connection will not go into the outlet if there is another plug above or below. It should have a straight-in plug. Better yet, maybe Mr. Zien could design rotating prongs that would work on a right-angled plug. That's worth five stars.

I bought this to go in a room where I already have the larger version, and with an outlet that already has several wall plugs, so it was the perfect size for me. My one complaint is that there's no light or other "On" indicator on this one, making it far too easy to switch off without realizing it--for instance, while moving heavy stuff around: something can land on top of the power button and you'd never know your iPod has stopped charging, or whatever. The larger version has one of those obnnoxious blue lights that's always on, like the Eye of Sauron, but at least you can tell if you've tripped the switch. If it didn't have this flaw, I'd give it a 4 or even a 5.

I bought a power pivot directly from Quirky. It stopped working (power switch shorting out) after 14 months. Vicki in Customer service said they wouldn't replace it because it could have been because a power hit. No thunderstorms in Silicon Valley so that's not it.

I want to like this product, but at $30, it's pricey if it's going to die again after a year. Maybe it was bad switches in my batch. But I'm not willing to spend $30 for a power strip to give them another chance.

This product seems like a great idea but unfortunately I never got to try to out because the stated cord length is incorrect. It says in the product description on amazon and on the physical product packaging that the cord length is 6 feet but I could tell immediately that it was not. Thinking maybe they meant overall length I measured the entire thing. The cord length is 4 feet and the overall length of the cord plus power strip is approx. 5 1/2 feet. I returned the product because I needed a full 6 feet of cord and therefore couldn't use it. The box states "Featuring six feet of cord with a flat head plug, Pivot Power makes it easy to put all of your adapters right where they need to go." This is not correct. If you need a full 6 feet of cord look elsewhere.

As soon as I plugged it in and turned it on, I heard a loud pop, followed by a flash around the power button. Soon after I noticed a very stong burning smell coming from the power strip. I immediately unplugged the unit. I'm not sure if it caused any damage to my outlet or electronics. Will be returning ASAP. I tried looking for a customer service number or email for Quirky to inform them of the hazard, but coun't find any contact info on the product packaging or website. Was very suprised since other reviews seemed good.

I love power strips and surge protectors. Ordered two of these to organize my office type equipment cords and rechargeable battery pack cords. Opened the first one and plugged it in. The light glowed. Tested the on/off button. Never came back on. Opened the second package. Noticed the item was not packaged solidly like the first - was just laying in the box with the twist ties at the bottom of the package. Plugged it in. The light glowed. Tested the on/off button. Worked. Button was very solid. I felt I was taking a chance when I ordered these due to the mixed reviews on the quality. I wish I hadn't. They just feel "cheap". I own many Belkin and a few other brand surge protectors and they all feel solid. For the price it was just not worth the risk to see how long the working one would last, so they both went back. Great idea but needs better quality to make it worth the price. I may have just got the one dud out of a million but out of all the other surge protectors I have bought over the years - and I have many- this one was the only one that arrived broken.

This is our second purchase of this surge protector. I first bought the white one for the bedroom because we wanted something that would have almost a night-light effect. It does that just fine - bright blue light that makes it easy to find the plugs in the dark. Then I bought the black one for our Christmas Tree, wanting something that would blend into the background a bit better. It is perfect and the blue light for the power button is much tamer and does not distract at all from the Christmas tree lights. The flexible style is very useful, so lots of different large adapters can be plugged in at one time. However, I find it doesn't like to "relax" - meaning I can never get it to rest completely straight. It always has a curve.

These seemed like a great idea, and I ended up buying three of them, but one of them had most of the sockets stop working fairly early on, which I didn't realise at first because one of the sockets remained working, and it seemed by then too late to return it. I saved it because I was thinking about trying to return it, then got distracted by other things that were going on, and forgot all about it. I later got this pivot point mixed up with one of the others, and when I tried to use it with a lamp, not only did the lamp light flicker, but the pivot point made a sort of sizzling and popping noise, which was quite scary. I turned it off with the rubber ended handle on a kitchen gadget and unplugged it and don't intend to use it again.
Update: It is now a couple of months later, 12 August, 2016, and the second one of these has now failed, the one I put into the place where the first one that failed was being used. I thought at first that there was something wrong with my ottlite lamp because the bulb started flickering very badly and then failed altogether. However, it wasn't the lamp or the bulb, it was this quirky power point failing again. So far two of the places where you plug things into it no longer work. I've just ordered another Belkin 7-outlet surge protector as a replacement as I've had to do before. The Belkins I've had since 2012 are still working perfectly. I expect I'll need to replace the third quirky power point before much longer, and when I do I'll get another Belkin. Including the tax, I've probably wasted about $100 on these quirky dangerous wastes of money, and I'll never buy another.
